  1. I WILL BE THERE!!! have not been to a game in probably 15 years, and i stay in peoria. not sure why, just haven't been. of note: i have never been to a major/minor league game where the team i was rooting for didn't win. go cobs.
  2. yeah, this is a little silly. who SHOULD any team go after? alex effin rodriguez, are you kidding me?
  3. WILLIE MAYS - CANDLESTICK = GREATEST OF ALL TIME by far.
  4. magic angel dust. they are just so much more intelligent than the rest of us, that they use the high from this magic angel dust to alter our own realities.
  5. Jim Hendry? Hendry wont be surprised until he realizes it. This was just "bad luck." [underslept, sniffled speak] well, you know, he had a bad start this time out. you can blame that one on me. but obviously steve has been a good pitcher for a long time, and i expect him to bounce back and help us out the rest of the season. [/underslept, sniffled speak]
  6. Which means absolutely nothing It doesnt mean it wont happen again. It does however suggest that there are guys ho can shut em down in the 7th and 8th inning, but they cant take the pressure of closing. Similarly, there are guys who can dominate in a save situation, but for some reason when you bring them i with a 5 run lead, they cant get the job done. it doesn't mean it won't happen again, but it still means absolutely nothing.
  7. the hypocrisy of the media on this is killing me. these people roast barry bonds and then say it's overblown on ankiel. obviously there is a difference here, but hgh is hgh, and you can't say one person is way wrong and one "is getting blown out of proportion," as the Fox announcer just said "because he isn't hitting .150." yeah. he wouldn't stick in the majors if he was hitting .150. good story previous to this or not, he should not get an automatic pass.
  8. bromedian.
  9. what are they supposed to do though really? Standing O when he leaves from another terrible outing? Clap? I really dont know what the alternatives were, and its not like all 40000 there were booing, id say it was a very low percentage as it didnt come across tv well at all. let's not be foolish and suggest that i may believe a standing ovation to be appropriate. i would do nothing and be sad that my team is losing and playing poorly. zambrano (or whatever player is struggling) probably isn't going to benefit from being boo'd. that's just my opinion. if old people at the complexes i mow were to stand around and boo everytime i missed a spot while weedeating, i would probably get nervous and only get worse. that's me, though.
  10. 'mental midgets' has to be one of the dumbest, and corniest sounding phrases i've ever heard.
  11. while i've never really been into booing the home team, i understand and support peoples right to do so. you won't ever see me do it, and i honestly believe that he was right when he said support is better than whatever else, but again, i get it. zambrano sucked today and should take responsibility for it.
  12. first post from new macbook. woot! now score, cubs!
  13. wowowowowowowowowowowowowowowowowow. for all that bitching earlier in the thread... lawlz
  14. You realize that they are 2 games back and just rolled through Atlanta right? That being said, I never count them out until they are eliminated...fortune always smiles on them eventually. I guess that makes me one of the people you are ranting about. you did read my post, right?
  15. actually he is, he's just been unlucky with balls in play and hasn't helped himself with his fielding. i wasn't being sarcastic. he has had some of the nastiest breaking stuff i've ever seen him throw. fastball has also looked good. The Brewers have a .400 BABIP for the game, and have gotten a couple of really lucky hits at the right time. exactly. i know game threads are emotional, but this one has been nuts.
  16. WTG MENTAL MIDGET WHOS A FREAKING GOOD FOR NOTHING HACK THAT CAN"T BUNT> YOU SUCK HILL?!?!
  17. actually he is, he's just been unlucky with balls in play and hasn't helped himself with his fielding. i wasn't being sarcastic. he has had some of the nastiest breaking stuff i've ever seen him throw.
  18. Yeah. good god. hill is actually pitching pretty good, imo. just got unlucky there. had an 0-2 count on weeks and one got away, a bloop hit... i don't think it's over yet.
  19. yeah, it is pretty bad in here tonight, huh?
