  1. What's worse is that I have to drop Dye because I can't keep him ](*,)
  2. The trade u made with me of Dye (u got Matthews back via waivers) for Cano, Baldelli, and Saunders is paying dividends..this is the trade I regretted at the deadline.
  3. Tim, can you open up the add/drop function? I need to pick up a position player to replace an infielder. Thanks. Done All set...thanks.

  5. I was worried with you going 3-1 on starters...let's hope my pitchers continue to carry me on to the finals because my hitters have been cold - Manny is out, Markakis has been cold so has Dye and I traded three guys lights out Young, Baldelli, and Cano.
  6. Yes...but actually not thinking of it that way. The two starters dropped, Hernandez and Wolf were both two starts this week but both performed poorly in their first starts so I picked up a couple of "crusty" veterans for the playoff run.
  7. I was set middle of the year but I had to make a run for the playoffs so I lost a lot of rookies and exempt players that are playing well this year - Baldelli, Wang, Saunders, Cano, Young and a slew of future stars like Wood, etc. So if I don't win the championship then it would be costly...
  8. Hopefully, Manny steps it up because the injury he has suffered lately has been hurting his performance...Peavy has been solid - good thing that our league does not count W or L.
  9. Good luck everyone I'll need luck to beat you! If you have a week like this past week, then I have no chance. Webb is really kicking some CY arsh...
  10. Good luck everyone
  11. I don't have any problems at all...you have to be careful because there is an option to make a change that will affect only one day or for multiple days. There were times were I miss an opportunity but not like Sanchez's no-no.
  12. I strongly believe that hording is part of the strategy..ie the Yankess and Red Sox hording talent because they can afford them. I have been fortunate to be able to spin off some players for pitching and pick up younger pitchers that have performed. Now I am at a point that I don't want to release them because they have performed well and it suits the structure of the league. Once Harden comes off the DL, I have to let go of a strong position player that have served me well this year (if he ever comes off DL). Edit: also because we have a limited amount of roster spots hording can weakened certain areas as well so I don't think it deters from the integrity of the league.
  13. Since my option is not doable, then I would like to change my vote to option #2...
  14. I don't think it's right or wrong...it's merely playing with the rules. Anyone can do it; unfortunately, not everyone is active and can't or won't do the work to pick up the right pitchers or trade for them. I voted to limit the number of innings per year but Tim says that it can't be done with CBS Sportsline and keeping track of it would be difficult.
  15. I voted something else - 5 starters per day (max), unlimited pitchers per week but limited to a set innings per year.
  16. You are going to have a tough time with your non-exempt players. 1800 points will only allow you keep 3 to 4 players from below: Soriano Pujols Carpenter Suzuki Glaus Jeter Johnson Petite Martinez Buerhle
  17. Still looking to improve my team to try to secure the four playoff spots... 1) consistent RF 2) better 2B than Phillips 3) always need better pitching
  18. I believe the number of innings for rookie-eligibility is 90 innings.
  19. There will be as many rounds as are required for everyone to refill their team. For now, the option isn't showing up in sportsline, but it will be there during the offseason. For now, if anyone makes a trade involving draft picks, just get both players to post their approval of the deal in this thread to document things. Thanks, Tim. BTW, I made a counter offer to your trade proposal.
  20. Tim: I did not know we can trade draft picks. How does this work? How many draft picks are there? Thanks.
  21. It seems every top prospect has taken a step backwards in the last year or two. There's sooooo few decent prospects anymore that's worth getting excited about. I'm beginning to come of the opinion that Flieta needs to go when they finally can Dusty and crew as well. Not sure it's fair to blame Oneri for the troubles of Blasko and Haggerty. Where did I do that? I commented on the overall, drastic backwards movement of the system. Injuries to prospects are going to happen, but the system as a whole has digressed incredibly over the last 3 years. Name one power-hitting prospect that is showing any promise right now? We have none in the system that are worth getting excited over. Who was the last position playing all-star that we've drafted and groomed? That's an indictment of our ability to develop position players, and Oneri is the head of player development. I made the stretch when I read the responses from you and NCCubbieFan. Re-reading it again, I may have made a bad stretch.
  22. It could be a matter of individually they are fine on paper but collectively they don't produce...maybe you should fire your manager...:P I want to corner the market of #1 SP who are injured...is Ben Sheet available?

  24. I am still confident that Harden will turn out fine. I had to trade something to get a #1 SP - at least Ibanez has been carrying the load.
  25. Ooops...another setback for Harden and Manny is heating up. Hopefully BJ becomes big or I can trade him for a #1 SP. At Streets is fine with Velarde going to the minors.
