  1. And its Emery's job to know the expected turnover when Lovie was fired, and his job to retain guys of value to the team. Im not sure we have the offensive personnel to have a good offense. Trestman could be set up to fail with this offense. It is also Emery's job to upgrade the offensive personnel to help ensure Trestman has what he needs.
  2. Nobody is satisfied that the defensive staff left, but that wasn't a Bears choice, that was the coaches begging out because of loyalty to Lovie. I have to wonder why anybody isn't satisfied that we blew up the offensive staff. It was the Bears choice to fire Lovie and then hire a CFL coach who many NFL coaches likely view as unqualified to get the job. That was a good way of forcing your defensive staff's hands. You can't just make a "bold" choice without thinking about the ramifications. I believe the main factor in him departing was the fact that his buddy Monte Kiffin got the Dallas DC job out of nowhere. Otherwise I think he would be staying.
  3. Mully is terrible. I was thinking the same thing when I read that post.
  4. Obviously he was so distraught by the news that he forgot she was fake.

  6. Manti, why are you hiding in the closet? Come out of the closet! It is okay dude, really.
  7. I just literally burst out in laughter.
  8. Couldn't confirm it. Explains why DS ran it without waiting to hear back from ND and Te'o. then why are they reporting it as "breaking news"? and now they're acting like he was the victim. espn is [expletive] disgusting I think it was roughly an hour or so ago but ESPN was talking to different people about it like David Pollack and Mark Schlereth...anyways they were going to break whatever girl was on there, she had this somber tone about it like somebody just died...it was just weird.
  9. The nice thing about a fake dead girlfriend is you can't kill her again.
  10. Dawson is straight gangsta yo!
  11. 2.5 years or so? If I am remembering the dates from the Deadspin article correctly.
  12. Nice cougar ad showing up at the bottom of this page for me.
  13. Seems like the most logical possibility here. What, NDers having sinister plans about women? NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLED IT. Like THAT has ever happened. :good:
  14. Seems like the most logical possibility here.
  15. So in a way, Marc Trestman and Cutler definitely have one thing in common. They are both coach killers amirite? \:D/
  16. This is what i read on another board: Trestman was with Seifert, then Seifert got fired. He was with Bill Callahan, then Callahan got fired. He was with Dave McGinnis, then McGinnis got fired. Assistants live a vagabond lifestyle. Longevity of stay is not the norm - it's the reason Trestman went to the CFL. So at least some instances of him moving on when a new HC comes in. Maybe if you looked further some other moves were upgrades. And there have been results offensively, no matter what decision makers decide about him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I believe his head coach at NC State got fired too and that is what finally caused him to say "bleep it, I'm going to Canada!" :P
  17. he'll have significant input, just like lovie had input in the selection of tommie harris and tank johnson and the acquisition of ogunleye in forming his d-line. trestman will get the same. I agree with this.
  18. I mistakenly put it at 10am today earlier, but corrected it to 10am tomorrow. Sorry if I misled. It is too late. The damage has been done. :( :P
  19. And against Minnesota he made Tubby wait around like an [expletive] while he probably did something annoying. He's just the worst. ETA: Saw this on an Illinois board and can't stop watching it. Tubby deserved that based on his horrible mustache. Who the hell wants to be near Thad Matta after a game? Dude is drenched in slimy sweat.
  20. It isn't funny when you do it. Only sulley can make that [expletive] work.
  21. I think it's time to start evaluating if I'm an "IU hater" or if this team is actually all that good. Besides pounding crap teams, there's the win over Minnesota -- which sure felt like a loss to me. Slow the game down, make it a grinder, and viola, you beat Indiana. You are a godless heathen hater who sticks needles into a Tom Crean voodoo doll each night before you go to bed. And then you soil your Bobby Knight doll repeatedly. Okay, I might have went a bit overboard there.
  22. I trust that Emery has done his homework and been very thorough in this process. That doesn't mean whoever he picks will be the right guy. I mean he is picking through a collection of coahes who are not proven NFL head coaches. I'll admit I feel a bit leery about Trestman but at the same time, there is no guarantee any of these career OC's are guaranteed to be the right guy either. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I won't freak out if Trestman is the guy. My personal preference has been either McCoy or Dennison but it doesn't sound like either of those guys is in the final running. Bevell? Maybe. Arians? He seems like a qualified guy but the Steelers fans I talk to really, really hate on him a lot.
  23. It was fairly amazing.
  24. They lost the toss, so it could happen. Why acquire Peyton Manning if you aren't going to try to use him to win games in critical situations like that? Yeah that was weird as hell.
