I think the Charlotte Bobcats have a better chance at winning the NBA title this year than Skiles coming to IU. The more I think about it......nah, not happening. Just the brainchild of some drunk sportswriter. Although I'd still support the hire if it happened. Hey, Skiles might be a redass but that is why you hire a charismatic assistant to smooth over the recruiting process. :mrgreen:

shhhhhh, raising will hear you. Was it really? I missed the second half but UCLA won by 10...was it close and UCLA just made their FTs to stretch the lead? Also, looks like the second half was UGLY. LMAO...OJ Mayo had 10 turnovers and 4 points. I made that post when USC had pulled within 6 points at 46-40.....UCLA did pretty much have control the entire game but USC hung around it seemed....from 46-40 it never got closer. Didn't watch the entire game but I kept an eye on the score here and there.

I just wasted a half hour of my life arguing with an Indiana fan who believes Dan Dakich is the best we can do for a FULL-TIME REPLACEMENT for Sampson. Not interim, full-time coach. :banghead:

He only averaged 16 wins per season in his final 3 years, that is what did him in. Including a two year stretch of 29-29 where IU missed the NCAA tourney for the first time since 1985. Those mediocre seasons combined with sticking his foot in his mouth at every available opportunity was the main thing.

Reminds me of Mike Davis not wanting to recruit Mike Conley Jr in order to try and get Oden....and even further, he accidentally sent a recruiting letter addressed to another kid to the Conley household. And Rodney Carney saying he would have played for IU instead of Memphis if IU had ever recruited him. :banghead:

I'd take Lickliter in a heartbeat. Who cares about IU ties? RMK didn't have any IU ties and wasn't even from Indiana. Lickliter is a hell of a coach and seems to have class and integrity. But yeah, I don't see him being pursued by IU....won't stop me from being wishful though. :mrgreen:

I don't know, it's not like he had a long history of cheating...the OU violations surfaced at the exact same time as the hiring. Granted, if I'm the AD and I have knowledge of those issues then I don't touch him. It's not like IU fans were clamoring for Sampson to be hired. The hiring came completely out of left field, nobody had KS on the list except apparently Greenspan. Once he was hired, I'm not sure as fans we had much choice but to give the benefit of the doubt and hope that he learned his lesson. So much for that.

I'm sure probation and scholarship restrictions will be involved. And as long as Sampson is fired, I don't think we will get a postseason ban but who knows. We might end up taking it on the chin for one season but it won't be the death of the program AS LONG AS we hire a proper replacement who is both a quality coach & recruiter and a proper MAN. Sampson can't get fired soon enough for me. I'd say more but I'd get censored pretty heavily.

My understanding is that Sampson lied to IU officials and the investigators that IU hired. I don't believe the NCAA has spoken to him personally yet. Not that it matters, in either case he looks equally bad. *edit* - I reread the report and he lied to both parties. Great. :roll: The 100 calls are the calls that Rob Senderhoff made. Sampson did not make those calls. Although Sampson is by default taking the blame for all of this as the NCAA is accusing him of not establishing an environment of compliance...and I don't think they believe he lacked knowledge of what Senderhoff was doing. In any case, fire Sampson. I feel like a dope for giving the guy the benefit of the doubt.

IU up 29-21 on the Buckeyes at halftime. Huge game for our Big Ten title hopes. Getting into that 3 game home stand at 9-1 would be awesome. :clapping:

Purdue is off to a strong start in Madison. 19-10 lead. If they can sweep the Badgers, look out! It would be awesome to see Purdue and Indiana meet as the only one loss teams in the Big Ten.

Regarding Frazier's love tap to EJ, I heard that Chester did the exact same thing to Moore from Purdue. Sounds like part of his pregame routine more than anything.

I'm an IU fan and all but the announcers are nuts if they wanted a foul called on that last play. That would have been uber lame to win the game like that. :mrgreen:
