  1. I definitely like how Pronger got taken down a few notches tonight. Some really solid hits on him. The worst case scenario now is coming back to UC for a Game 7. Obviously I'd like to see the thing get finished on Wednesday night. I think they can do it.
  2. This is why I wasn't ready to freak out yet. All it took was a strong Game 5 showing to get this thing back under control.
  3. So? He was a big part of the team a couple of years ago. People have good memories of him. It's not just about what kind of player he was. Fans have a lot of good memories that relate to him. I was at the game June 4 and a Brewers player made a diving snow cone catch in the outfield. The fans applauded the effort. I had to wonder how many other stadiums would have applause for a member of the other team, even when he did make a great catch. I'm not embarrassed in the slightest that Miles (or any returning player) gets a standing ovation. Miles was a fan favorite for a few years. A lot of the fan favorites aren't necessarily the best players. I have no problem with Miles being back. It was a low-risk signing anyway. He had a hit tonight, anyway. BEST FANS IN BASEBALL AMIRITE
  4. Despite all the hysterics here, winning Game 5 puts the Blackhawks back in control of the series. Yeah I wish they had at least split in Philly but oh well. Obviously the Flyers are a tough opponent and playing at a level beyond a 7th seed. Sure it would be nice to just roll through them in 4 or 5 games to win a Cup but nobody said it was gonna be easy. I still have the faith. :hello:
  5. whatttt? i thought we dominated that period. i thought philly was a little better in the 1st. We outshot them 9-3 in the first. They had *nothing* going. neither did we Neither team really seemed to have anything going in the 1st period but I thought the Blackhawks were controlling the action more simply because they did not give Philly any good shots at all. In the 2nd period the Flyers were getting a lot more quality shots. I was starting to get a little nervous until the back to back goals. Still can't let up of course.
  6. lol he isn't doing anything special. The Blackhawks really haven't put enough good shots in him yet.
  7. Yeah I feel good about that. Need to start challenging Leighton more though.
  8. Man let's cash in this power play, it might the only one we get. :-))
  9. Great penalty kill, they did not even sniff a good look at the net. The Blackhawks just seem more under control tonight, I am feeling pretty good so far. Just a matter of time before they start getting some shots on net.
  10. I am absolutely [expletive] losing it right now. Somebody hook me up with an on-line feed. This is absolute madness. Burn in hell, WTHR. Burn in [expletive] hell. I got the game in Fort Wayne.
  11. Definitely have to tip your cap to Carlos Silva so far. :hello:
  12. The way the Blackhawks played tonight, it is absolutely awesome to win that game. A very fortunate win but now they can hopefully settle down and play more consistent hockey with that first win of the series in hand.
  13. Now now, I am sure Mr Calipari knows nothing of these violations and is not involved at all. :good:
  14. Cardinal fans do have shirts that say "Zambrano mows my lawn." So the question is........do you want to stoop to the level of a Cardinals fan? http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h228/sebennett99/get-a-brain-morans.jpg
  15. The Flyers touched the conference championship trophy. I don't care if it did not hurt the Pens last year, you have tempted fate Philadelphia!
  16. I can safely say this current group of Blackhawks has re-energized my interest in hockey. Back in the late 80's/early 90's I would follow the playoff games on radio (my parents never had cable) but by the time I got to college and had cable, the franchise had started to regress into that dead period. Last season's playoff run is what really got me back into it again and this season is just the icing on the cake of course. Such a young team, they could be at the top for a while.

  18. http://www.northsidebaseball.com/bridge/index.php?f=44&t=36026&rb_v=viewtopic There might have been hockey threads before that but this was the first one I could find dedicated solely to the Blackhawks.
  19. I thought it was interesting to go back to the first Blackhawks thread still accessible on this site (2006-07) and then browse the other two season threads and just think how far the Blackhawks have come since those early days of posting great goals by Kane and Toews and thinking aloud how these are the kind of guys that change franchises and well, here we are.
  20. fixed
  21. The Celtics and Lakers are actually good teams though. Orlando and Phoenix looked great for a couple rounds but are being exposed by better teams. I dunno, I kind of look forward to some good basketball in the Finals despite my lack of fondness for both fan bases. lol
