  1. The refs called the CJ play 100% accurately given what the rule is. Is the rule flawed and should be tweaked? Sure, I won't argue with that. But until that process happens, the correct call was made and the Bears won. I'm not really proud of the win though because the Bears did everything possible to give that game away. And it sucks for Detroit if they lose Stafford for any amount of time.
  2. Bears gonna win 41-24, that is my prediction. :hello:
  3. I think going for the TD at the end of the half was a bad decision merely because ND did not have their #1 QB in there. Montana wasn't exactly looking solid throwing the ball so putting the ball in his hands to try and throw a TD in that situation, the odds just weren't in their favor.
  4. YOU ARE GOING DOWN TOWSON STATE! =D>
  5. I think my approach to the Bears season is going to be expect a 6-10 record and then anything above that is a pleasant surprise. =D>
  6. False I was going to say, I thought he only did that in New York.
  7. The purity of the game, lol. If the players from the "good old days" had access to the same performance enhancing drugs as the evil roid era players then the old timers would have certainly jumped all over that stuff too. To argue otherwise is simply obtuse. As already mentioned, we had Hank Aaron running around out there hopped up on goofballs so you really think he would have turned down some roids? Sure, if the purists want to believe that, okay then. Keep living in that insulated dream world. :good:
  8. In watching the first half of the Raiders game, it wasn't a work of art and yes the pass blocking needs to improve but I was very happy to see Matt Forte show some burst and look like 2008 Matt Forte on that 89 yard run. Run blocking did get better, now pass blocking needs to follow suit. The defense started poorly but did seem to get better as the half progressed. So............I am going to retain my cautious optimism for the 2010 season for now. Besides if the Bears actually looked great in the preseason I'd be more worried, usually it seems their regular season play is better when they suck in the preseason. I can't back that up with numbers, it just always feels that way to me.
  9. Evidence that Sammy is universally considered a jerk? Cause I like and respect him, and I think Hendry's a jerk. Yeah, I get it. You're a contrarian. That's your thing. Congrats. Based on the responses in this thread, it looks like you're stealing my bit. It was bound to happen sooner or later.
  10. Evidence that Sammy is universally considered a jerk? Cause I like and respect him, and I think Hendry's a jerk. I don't get the Sammy love around here. Even when he was crushing, he was a self-centered, egotistical ass when he wasn't blowing kisses to the camera. Are folks just too young to remember Dawson? And I wouldn't call Hendry a jerk. Grossly incompetent, but I've never read any reports that he mistreats players or anyone else or has anything but the best interests of the team in mind. Yeah I guess what we are all forgetting that the home runs don't count as much if you are being a jerk when you hit them. When a jerk hits a home run it counts for like 1/3 of a run, while if a nice guy hits a home run it counts for 2 runs.
  11. Maybe Indiana can finally beat Michigan for the first time since 1987! \:D/
  12. 4 straight losses for those fired up Redbirds. They are so fired up they can't even beat the Brewers. :P
  13. The Pacers 2nd round pick Lance Stephenson aka Born Ready got arrested for throwing his girlfriend down some stairs. Nice. :good: I knew the Pacers had went far too long between off court incidents. :P
  14. My gut feeling is that Yogi will commit first and that will take BJ out of the picture. I could see us going with just Zeller and Etherington for 2011 and then 2012 could be Patterson, Holloway, Jurkin, Perea and Ferrell. Either way as long as we get Zeller and Perea then I'm not as concerned with which point guard we get between BJ and Yogi.
  15. Yep and there is some buzz that Jeremy Hollowell could follow suit in the coming week. That would be awesome. Finally some good news for IU basketball! I don't know if I can handle 2 more crappy years though. Patterson, Hollowell, and Jerkin would look nice alongside Watford, Hulls, and Creek. The only problem is that if Watford and Creek continue to develop, they won't be around in 2012 anyway. And if they don't, the combo won't look so nice. Of course that is looking way too far ahead. That combo will look just fine, imo, with or without Watford and Creek (who I don't believe are going anywhere early, btw). They do need a point guard, though. Yogi would be a terrific get, especially if there is anything to the buzz that Gary Harris is also back on the front burner. I don't know if there would be enough basketballs for Harris, Hollowell, Patterson, and potentially Zeller. Good problems to have to think about, finally. Of course, it's all a lot of speculation at this point. BJ Young is also still in that conversation at PG. Although he would come with some risk..........he may or may not qualify.

You really don't think this team will continue to improve the next two seasons? If we lose 20 games again then I'll eat my shoe. Barring another critical injury like a Mo Creek repeat then I'm feeling pretty solid about the 2010-2011 team winning at least 15 or 16 games which would get them into NIT territory. I'd expect the incremental improvement to continue in 2011-12.

  18. Major Wright hasn't returned to the sideline since halftime. Finger injury.
  19. I liked that drive. Taylor juking Vasher into the ground and then Aromashadu beating Vasher, that was nice. \:D/
  20. Yeah it isn't looking too good so far. Tice has A LOT of work to do.
  21. They did say Knox was having his leg looked and he is okay but he only played one series too.
  22. Mannelly banged up his shoulder but I guess he is okay. Dez Clark is our backup long snapper apparently.
  23. I doubt it. The radio guys never mentioned any issue. Hanie might get killed though, lol. The NFL.com setup is pretty nice except having to pay for it. I get the video streamed with the Bears radio audio. :good:
