It would be really nice if BJ Young gave it some second thought now and chose Indiana instead but I doubt it. Doesn't Young have academic/discipline issues? I thought IU (and Illinois) backed off him thinking he may not even qualify. He was suspended two games this season for being ejected in two games. St. Louis P-D is reporting that Young is uncertain about Arkansas now. \:D/

It would be really nice if BJ Young gave it some second thought now and chose Indiana instead but I doubt it. Doesn't Young have academic/discipline issues? I thought IU (and Illinois) backed off him thinking he may not even qualify. Isn't IU over on schollys anyways? IU has an open scholarship for next season. Of course, they're full for two years from now -- and still recruiting the 2012 class -- so adding another for next year would change the paradigm for the future. Transfers are inevitable though. I'll be shocked if we don't at least have one or two kids transfer between now and next season. Capobianco being Exhibit A. As far as passing on BJ Young...I don't think we are in a position to pass on that kid if he did change his mind now and called up Crean. I would not be against it.

I thought IU (and Illinois) backed off him thinking he may not even qualify. There were questions about that but I could have swore I heard that he has qualified already. Could be wrong. But heck Maurice Creek took until the last minute to qualify for his freshman year so it isn't like Crean would refuse to recruit that kind of kid. Besides we need a PG pretty damn bad for next year imo (not to knock Hulls but at the very least adding another true point would likely put Verdell back into a wing role where he belongs).

Yeah but no matter what they still will have the same basic problems: 1) Bosh is soft. 2) Terrible bench. 3) No inside presence to speak of at either end of the court. Unless Haslem is able to come back I don't see any of those things changing.

Fun fact - this is the first IU basketball team to fail to a win a game outside of Bloomington since 1900! Yes, 1900. :shock:

They talked about it during the game. I don't get it. Oh okay, I had the sound turned down for most of the game. It just boggles my mind. Maybe he should have called up Carmody. After all our last loss to Northwestern came in Bloomington where NW only had one day off and IU had a full week off. The Wildcats sure did not seem bothered by it. Of course they have a coach who can actually coach the game of basketball and is probably smart enough to not run his team ragged in that situation.

They've lost 20 in a row away from Bloomington Last road win was in Happy Valley last season.

I don't have a link for this but apparently once Indiana arrived in Champaign, Crean put them through a tough practice. Great idea Tom. It isn't like we had a game on late Thursday night, then had our guys go to class on Friday, then had to travel for an early start today. Let's put them through a full practice to top it off!
