  1. Im serious when saying Z should move to 8th the next damn time Kendall catches him
  2. Jesus Kendall is worthless, its a sad sad day when I want Koyie Hill playing. Worthless
  3. why he hasn't pitched yet? he wasn't going to start according to the PBP guy. he was going to be the first reliever in. ok phew, thats different from all the reports. They all said he was starting tonight then coming out of the BP for THurs and Frid, but whatever I was a little worried at first
  4. any word on why?
  5. although the cubs offense statistically was better before Lofton got here in 03
  6. Did you got to the Jim Hendry school of cost management? Frankly I don't care if you don't care what he makes. The fact is it matters. Smart teams get the most bang for the buck. Poorly run teams pay big money for not big production. Inefficient management is why this team has had the troubles it has had. my point was that if he's brought up and contributes, great, but the fact that he is cheap isn't what should be considered No it should be his .294 .360 and .805 OPS for his career in the Majors
  7. Its a joke lighten up a little Which was funny the first 5 times someone mentioned it. The poor guy made a mistake, big effin deal. People come to this board for information, not jokes or bonding alleged internet friends. And he was given information on how to spell Maddux. you are making a mountain out of a mole hill. This place would be very boring if it was all news, no humor
  8. Seriously, I hope the Wrigley fans give him a 10 minute standing ovation the first day he takes the mound. Sadly, it will probably be the opposite. I doubt it. Kerry Wood is probably the most universally loved player the Cubs have had since Sandberg this is the over-statement, I believe most people pray he does well but expects his failure with him returning to the DL. I have never been a fan of his ever since he held out after he was drafted. I would say D. Lee is far more loved followed by Maddox I highly doubt Tommy Maddox is more loved than Kerry Wood I thought he meant Garry Maddox, Secretary of Defense and Awesome Facial Hair: http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/1332/2100/320/gmaddox86T.jpg But as far as beloved Cubs, there was that guy who wore #31 after Fergie and then was traded to Atl ... I'm not sure what Maddox was traded to Atl, the only one I can think of left as a FA to join Atl and that would be Greg Maddox. Its Maddux. There, can we get back on point instead of railing someone for misspelling one of the greatest players of all time's last names. Thanks. Its a joke lighten up a little
  9. Supposedly Williams is expecting an elite prospect for him...So who would you be willing to give up?
  10. How would Garland be a perfect number 3 when Hill has better numbers than him? Wouldnt that make Hill a perfect #3? Hill beats him in every statistical category
  11. My God...He would be the perfect fit here. IF this season is a fluke, and hes not regressing, he could help this team.

  13. We are only 1 out in the loss column, and the Padres have played 3 more games than us right now, so I consider it as us being tied :D
  14. Sure, except this Ryan Church bats lefty, can catch a flyball and score from third on a ball hit to shortstop. The only valid argument in that post is that he is a left handed bat. I guess I imagined Murton dropping two routine flyballs in right field. I guess I imagined the three times early in the season when his crippling indecision as a runner at third cost the Cubs runs. All you need to know about his future with the Cubs is that Lou has referred to him on several occasions as "the guy who played a little right field for us earlier in the year." Lou hasn't spoken Murton's name since he left. They called up the great Jake Fox and then Scott Moore instead of Murton. Lou's "get me somebody who can run the bases and catch the ball tirade" was directed just as much at Murton as it was Barrett. I know Murton's hitting .326 at Iowa. Good for him. I also know that Felix Pie and Ronny Cedeno are hitting .372 and .360 there. Apparently Des Moines has sprung a mountain range since we last looked and the I-Cubs are playing at altitude, it's the only explanation for why guys who can barely hit their weight in Chicago are excelling down there. Murton's only position is left field and that's booked for the next seven and a half years. Try not to get too attached. When did Murton weigh 294 lbs, because .294 is his career batting average in Chicago?
  15. Cedeno hasn't been hitting for as much power recently, I'll grant... but he's still batting .310 in his last 10 games. And why on earth are you using errors to judge a player's defense? I thought the world was past that archaic mode of thought. Why on earth are you using batting average to judge a player's offense? I thought the world was past that archaic mode of thought. His defense doesn't worry me one bit. Great range don't mean crap when he drops the ball every time he gets to it, and considering the hitter paradise in Iowa's AAA league, I don't agree with this call up one bit. Need I remind you we have a right fielder who lives life day to day. Wow hyperbole at its finest. You are going to criticize Cedeno because of his D, and the advocate calling up Murton whos D is alot more suspect then Cedenos? I like Murton and have no problem with him in RF but you cant criticize Cedeno's D, and then advocate Murton.
  16. While it may seem like that the Cubs still have 12 games left vs the Reds compared to the Brewers 13
  17. And let me guess your brewers go 19-1? They probably go 9-11 or 10-10. Was my prediction somehow way off base just from being a Brewer fan? Seems right in line with what everyone else thinks will happen. I was just messing with you
  18. And let me guess your brewers go 19-1?
  19. another thread already in baseball discussions you obviously didnt read the board
  20. And for those with the NFL Network, they are replaying a condensed version of the Bears/Seahawks playoff game from 4:30-6:00 today. Anybody else slightly amused by the thought of a punter going up to the ST coach's office with a sheet of paper highlighting the results of his discovery of the benefits of exercise? Lol yea if I had been that coach I would have went to Lovie, and told him to tell Maynard hes gotten to big to be a punter, hes trying out at safety, and Urlacher is your first tackling partner.
  21. I really dont see why people are clamoring for another SP. I keep hearing people say they dont trust Marshall...that same Marshall has given up or fewer earned runs in 9 of his 11 starts. The only pitcher I would even think about moving from the rotation is Marquis, but we all know thats not happening anytime soon with that contract. Plus, the majority of the pitchers available are not very good. Livan Hernandez? No Kyle Lohse? Hell NO Jose Contreras? HELL NO Am I missing some quality starter that is better than what we aleady have?
  22. If we are thinking outside the box and putting Glaus at SS, why not put him in RF instead?
  23. Looking good for us. means we will be shut out
  24. I hear we have some guy named Wood starting Tues for Peoria, anybody ever heard of him?Scouting report?
