  1. in one statistic (albeit an important one) How 'bout 6 of 14 in BA okay so now we're delving into the unimportant statistics. Shall we head along to stolen bases? I already did, in terms of unimportant, Henderson waves hello Did you just compare the Riot to Rickey Henderson? No i said SB was important. They're much less important now than they were in Ricky's heyday. The game is much more reliant on power now to advance and score runners. Because we all know the Cubs are leading the league in HR  "Power" doesn't only mean home runs. And I'm not saying that stolen bases can't help the team from time time...you were stating that "SB are important" in terms of baseball in general, and they're not as important as they were when guys like Ricky were playing. Stolen bases should not be the major driving factor for a player to be signed/traded for/drafted/assigned playing time/etc.. Fact: the Cubs are playing small ball Fact: SB are key in small ball Conclusion: Theriot is a key part to this offense The Cubs arent really playing small ball. They are stringing singles and doubles together, but there hasnt been a lot of bunting and such. so, someone singles and then steals and the next person singles now there is a run(usually). Theriot is best at stealing on this team, he is not a hole in this team. You are taking Theriot at his very hottest and basically assuming its going to continue the rest of the year.

  4. Wow I just bought 2 tickets on stubhub to the Sat Aug 18th game vs STL for 50 bucks total. Section 515 looks like a great view on seatdata. I hadnt been able to find any decently priced tickets for this game at all, and yesterday when I checked stubhub, these werent there. Woo
  5. When our catcher collectively drop under. 100, yes. so you are saying pretty soon then right? :D
  6. Well since we stood pat, can we call up Soto and let him play?
  7. Is there anywhere you can listen to West Tenn game on the net?
  8. hell at this point Id try underhanded
  9. because we have been playing .500 baseball with our current roster for the last 2 months? It was a hot streak. It got them back into contention, but to think they will sustain +.650 baseball the rest of the year is really pushing it. They havent even been over 8 games above .500 The team has to many weaknesses to sustain playing at that level for a 2-3 month timeframe. your right. team sucks. season over. good analyisis thanks for the input. I said nothing of the sort, but whatever, Im a Cubs fan and I expect failure from my team, as thats what they have done my entire life. Believe me I hope Im wrong, and IM man enough to admit it if Im wrong. We are all Cubs fans, but we all look at things differently, so why is my pessimism such a horrible thing? Its been 99 years and all 27 years of my life, and Ive never seen the Cubs in a World Series, so I think my pessimism is very warranted. Alright enough already! You're depressing... Ill post when I want to post but thanks How old are you? Im 27 what the hell is your point? He told me to stop posting, and he has no power on this board to tell me or anybody that.
  10. Piker. I have no idea at all what the hell this means lol

  14. A - We really don't know that the Cubs haven't made a move yet. B - You seem pretty convinced that the Cubs are going to play .500 ball the rest of the way. I strongly believe otherwise. I'd ask you to wager, but I wouldn't ask you to root against them the rest of the way. That said, I see no way that the Cubs will hover around .500 the rest of the season. I dont understand how everybody can just forget the first 2 months of the season. They got on a hot streak, and Im glad but to totally dismiss the first 2 months of the season, when the team has gotten weaker at catcher, Marquis has remembered he sucks, and Hill is not pitching with the same dominance, CF is the same hole it was, and we are getting no power at all from RF, is absurd.

  16. nope no moves for Jimbo today, not a surprise. Heres to hovering around .500 the rest of the year, lets just hope the Brewers play below .500 and we can slide into the playoffs and anything can happen from there.
  17. We have Kendall who is a veteran and has great career #'s..plus "brings it" every day. I'm not the least bit concerned. It's already been broughten. jersey whipping out his best Jamie Pressley. thats what the trade deadline does to people
  18. Marmol better be untouchable. I'd rather trade Pie. ? yes, may I help you? Marmol more untouchable than Pie? That's a little crazy. it isnt in the slightest. Yes it is. Good bullpen arms arent really that hard to find, compared to a 5 tool outfielder who has been great at every level hes played at, while being under the league average age.
  19. no Hendry is standing pat. Source? Or just the typical I know it all pessimistic attitude? Its my damn opinion is that not allowed? sorry if I dont look at everything optimisticly regarding a team that hasnt won a damn WS in my lifetime and only been to the playoffs 4 times in my life.
  20. did she get really fat after yall split up and then you revisited? no, but I only slept with her to a) make her leave me alone and b) to bust a slump That bad in bed huh?
  21. Well Suppan is going for the Brewers so that is a little help for us.
  22. Exactly that was basically my point in saying Id rather they fill a hole, then get Gagne
