But what happens when Ryan Braun quits performing way way over his head? Fielder is in a big time HR drought, JJ Hardy remembered who he was, Weeks has been optioned to AAA, and all the Brewers starting pitching is suspect, outside of Gallardo who looks like the real deal. The only pitchers on the Cubs who really have performed better than expected are Lilly and Marshall. Lillys numbers in his past have been inflated by pitching in the AL East, so who knows maybe facing the weaker NL, Lilly really is this good. Marshall is a young kid who has talent, and it will be interesting to see how he handles the pressure of pitching in a playoff race. -
I haven't really been paying much attention, largely because I don't want to get my hopes up and then be crushed when he suffers another setback, but is that velocity pretty consistent with where he's been the past couple weeks? 91-94. touched 95. But his command has been excellent, and that's probably more indicative of his health. his command started shaky yesterdaY, with his first 5 pitches balls but then he seemed to right the ship and only went to a 3 ball count 1more time

wow waited over 3 years to make a post and he brings the thunder with the first post. I dont know why you would hope not about Murton, I mean seriously would you rather Jones or Floyd face a lefty? Murton in RF against a lefty gives us our best chance to win.

1st batter for Wood in his 2nd inning hits a tapper past Wood for the out Threw him a nasty curve/slider according to their broadcaster 2nd batter grounds to 3rd on 3rd pitch, soudns like his stuff is pretty good talking about his curve/slider having some nice bite to it 3rd batter goes to 3-2 count and Wood throws an 82 mph changeup to get batter to pop out foul Woods night is done 6 batters faced 1 walk 1 K 92 was the only reading of the gun that was given but their broadcaster says hes ready Chicago!

Thanks for the Wood updates, Keener. They're much appreciated. No problem I have nothing else to do since my cable company suddenly doesnt show WCIU games like they did earlier in the year. Kerry started off throwing 5 straight balls but calmed down. He threw his offspeed pitch, fastball, and his changeup that inning. Kerry back to the mound now

I'm over in Bloomington and I've never gotten any of the WCIU games. I hate WCIU games. Yea its weird, I had Insight in Galesburg, and got WCIU on channel 74, and when I moved to Pekin I got it at first. The last game on WCIU it picked up the game in the middle for some reason. Im pissed, can I get WCIU on DirectTV or Dish?Ive been thinking about changing, and this might just push me there.

Why in the hell am I not getting this game. Early in the year I got WCIU on channel 74 for the games, and right now they has some Jiim Macomb Chevrolet infomercial wtf!

Angel Pagans numbers are pretty much identical to his career numbers, Arams numbers are below his last 2 years, and Marquis's numbers may show hes overperforming, but thats highly inflated because of his start to the season. -
Jones has been on fire vs. right handed pitching, and floyd will hurt himself again soon. The only one on that list that really is maddening is Kendall. Especially with Soto tearing it up. A .696 OPS since the All Star Break is on fire now? I understand hes been better, but it would have been really hard to play worse

When they get Sheets back will greatly decide how long that pitching ratio stays lopsided. Alternatively we could make up some ground if we finally found a RF. There really hasnt been much of a difference From Gallardo to Sheets. In fact the numbers show that Gallardo has been better than Sheets this year. -
Per the weather channel - winds in from RF (ENE) at 6mph. Thanks, at least its not blowing out. Lets hope Jason can get that sinker working tonight.
