  1. Lou was asked about this possibility and he said it is very tempting, and it had already crossed his mind. However, he said they will resist the temptation since Wood did go almost a full 2 innings on Tues night, and they will give him a full 2 days off.
  2. Howard is a better power hitter than DLee and thats it. Lee is the better hitter, and better baseball player.
  3. What happens to Hill a lot these days. A combination of bloop hits, bad defense and Rich completely falling apart as a result. Yeah...who would have thought a couple months ago that Hill would be our biggest worry in terms of being a head-case? What makes you think Hill is a "head case". Alright maybe "head case" isn't exactly the right term....but it seems like all it takes is a couple unlucky plays and he falls apart...the same thing we saw back when Z was struggling... Ya like he fell apart in the first inning after bases loaded no outs?
  4. Watch since Eyre came in and got out of that jam, he will start getting used in meaningful situations again, regardless that he got the damn pitcher out.
  5. yeah...all hill's fault. How isn't it? are you watching the game? Hill gave up multiple hard hit balls and a HR. He hasn't been stellar this inning. Jones botched the dive, but only a CF with great range would have caught it, most would have just had the sense to field it on a hop. You mean like they guy we have playing in AAA so this piece of crap can attempt to play CF? Nevermind the fact that the guy in AAA could hit as well or better than the jokester we routinely keep putting in CF.
  6. The stick figure "playing" CF isnt really helping Hill out
  7. 15-1 Pirates enough said. Their pitching is nowhere close to being good enough to get back into the race. They are done
  8. Seriously, whats the record for double digit runs in a game given up in a season? The Cards have to be close to it, It seems like they give up double digits once a series lol
  9. there's pictures of the schoolbus about a foot away from the edge of the collapsed bridge on msnbc.com Yea I edited my original post after they showed the bus instead of just talking about it, good to hear. This bridge was only 40 years old and collapses? what the hell
  10. Oh wow witnesses saying there was a schoolbus on the bridge as well. This is terrible EDIT. The schoolbus didnt fall into river unless there was more than one on the bridge
  11. nice freaking route Jones wtf call up Pie
  12. Kerry Wood will be activated on Friday
  13. Well lets hope for the best but Jones and Fontenot should never play against lefties lest hope they prove me wrong
  14. I really hope Fontenot and Jones are not in the lineup against a lefty. What are Moyer's splits against righties and lefties? I thought I heard that lefties hit him better. I might just be making this up though. edit: just looked it up Lefties hit .022 higher than righties with a .005 higher OPS which to me isnt enough of difference to outweigh the fact that Jones and Fontenots numbers vs lefties are horrible.
  15. FWIW, your opinion of me is worthless, like 99% of the posts you make on here
  16. I really hope Fontenot and Jones are not in the lineup against a lefty.
  17. I know we dont have a hall of fame for threads, but seriously this needs stickied and enshrined as it is pure comedy.
  18. Steve Stone was on the Score a few weeks back, and he was complimenting Kerry on his new mechanics, work ethic, etc... But he did say he had changed his mechanics, and we all know how much Stone used to be on Kerry for his mechanics.
  19. I haven't really been paying much attention, largely because I don't want to get my hopes up and then be crushed when he suffers another setback, but is that velocity pretty consistent with where he's been the past couple weeks? 91-94. touched 95. But his command has been excellent, and that's probably more indicative of his health. If I were Kerry I would be concentrating more on control than throwing 98 MPH heat. I'm sure he could do it, but at some point he's got to learn to get guys out at lower MPH to save that arm. That's what I think Kerry's doing now. And it's slightly encouraging to me, although I refuse to open my emotions up again for another fall. With his breaking stuff 91-92 should be plenty to be successful out of the pen. One of his changeups came in last night at 82 mph, thats got to suck after seeing Woods 94 mph fastball or nasty slider

  21. Apparently the Cardinals thought they had Morris, but San Fran decided to trade him to Pitt instead, and basically everybody in baseball, including Morris, is completely dumbfounded about this trade. http://stlouis.cardinals.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070731&content_id=2119840&vkey=news_stl&fext=.jsp&c_id=stl
