  1. Heres to him knocking Marquis out of the rotation, we can only hope. Forget Marquis, its Marshalls turn to start shaking. Does anyone have the line on this guy since mid June? Are you kidding me? Marshall June 3.82 ERA 1.3 Whip July 2.31 ERA 1.29 Whip Marquis June 5.09 ERA 1.7 Whip July 6.29 ERA 1.51 Whip
  2. Only having 1 lefty isnt really that bad of a thing. The Cubs are going against traditional thinking by not having a loogy, which makes sense considering Wood, Weurtz, Howry, and Marmol can all get lefties out.
  3. He is starting to hit, but don't mention catching the ball or throwing out runners. Give him a break on that one too, I think. Needs some time to get used to the staff. What does him not catching balls, or throwing out runners, have to do with learning the staff? They have nothing to do with each other.
  4. Haha Lou just said that the Hr hit by Murton tonight probably gets him a start in the OF somewhere tomorrow. I guess that what it takes to finally get him a start or 2, till he goes 0-4 sometime and then is benched for awhile again.
  5. Its kind of odd how you reappear in game threads once the Cubs start losing again. You just magically disappeared while the Cubs were winning, thats odd.
  6. Whats Williams pitch count? What the hell FLoyd the ball bounced 2 foot in front of you! An average rf catches that ball
  7. HAHA so how many was that 10 pitches?
  8. Good job Theriot, the guy cant find the strike zone in the 1st and you swing 1st pitch
  9. Good inning Marshall. Lets go Epatt!
  10. Heres to him knocking Marquis out of the rotation, we can only hope.
  11. Yea right, you know the nest 3 innings will be the typical 7 pitch innings
  12. HAHA well we are done scoring, now Williams will settle in to go 6 more shutout innings. Typical Cubs inning right there. Bases loaded nobody out, adn we score 1 damn run. Ya thanks Jim we didnt need any help at the deadline jackass.
  13. HAHA 1 run with bases loaded nobody out is all we are goign to get. Good job Jones, Williams struggling finding the zone and you swing 1st pitch
  14. Ok DeRo time for you to hit the Grand Slam, you can do it!
  15. HAHA noway Floyd only hits foul balls that look like HR's
  16. sure would be nice to see Aram up with bases loaded nobody out, instead of the old geezer Floyd
  17. 1st and 3rd nobody out lets see how we screw this up
  18. Why would we move one of our best pitchers so far this year to the pen?
  19. the cubs did I dont think when they signed him it was to be a 5th starter. They knew one of the kids in the system would be the number 5, and hoped Hill claimed the number 3. But the point still remains you dont pay 7mill for a #4 either so, I guess I should rephrase that...."smart teams dont pay 7 mil for #4 or #5 starters." But I think the whole numbering of the rotation is pointless anyway, as it rarely occurs your#1 faces the other #1 and on down the line.
  20. Do you mean why didn't they release him? He had to be waived and clear in order to be sent to AAA in the first place. Why? Im almost positive Ohman has options left.
  21. There is no reason to DFA or waive Ohman. Hes a lefty whos proven he can get ML hitters out. He has struggled some this year, but Ohman still has value. This move also means we are going to be seeing more of Eyre, who has pitched well recently. I also wonder since Wood is down there now, they dont really feel they need a loogy, since Wood, Marmol, Wuertz, and Howry can all get lefties out. Now to my wishful thinking, Gallagher to the rotation for a "spot start" and Marquis to the far back of the bp as the long guy.
  22. How would you? You have three lefties. No matter what combo's you use two lefties would have to go back to back. Not in most 3 game series. The best you could do is RLRLL. Take that 5 man rotation through 1 series and you only have 1 lefty. But by the 2nd series, you go back to back. It's inevitable that lefties will throw back to back against the same team quite often throughout any period of time. You could cut reduce them by having one guy constantly going on 3 days rest, therefore constantly shuffling the rotation, but that's not very likely. The thing is Hill and marshall are quite similiar, face it. Lou is an idiot. The only real similarity between Hill and Marshall is they both throw from the left side. Hill is a strkeout pitcher while Marshall pitches to contact.
  23. No, but Lou could banish him to the bullpen if he thinks another starter could do better. I doubt it though...for the money they are paying him, he'd be an awfully expensive middle reliever. I suspect that if Marquis does bad enough, they'll DL him with a mysterious injury so that he can take a break, and they can "rehab" him in the minors. The problem with that is Marquis has to agree to it, and he isnt known as one to keep his mouth shut when hes unhappy. He vocally let his felings known last year about not being happy about being left off the playoff roster..
