    The sad thing is, if Jacque Jones hit 60 HRs and was given nightly curtain calls he would still never like the Cubs. For some reason, the Cubs fans just hated him like no other Cubs. Think about all of our bad FAs signings, none were ever hated as much as Jacque. The man hit a career high in HRs and was still hated by the Cubs. Not fair, and I feel really bad for the guy because you have to believe that he thinks racism is the reason. Todd Hundley. Put away the race card. He flipped off the fans. He brought that all on himself. Whatever the reason, Hundley was more hated than JJ. Think about the crap white guys who catch a pass though. Augie, Koyie Hill, Paul Baco. None of them caught what our black guys did. Illini you really arent being serious right? Augie Koyie Hill and Paul Baco came here with no expectations, compared to Latroy Hawkins, JJ, and others, and thats not even mentioning the money they made compared to Augie etc... I guess you are right with the expectations thing. But Patterson was ripped and he wasn't amking any money. I sometimes think race plays a factor in it. But again with Corey, he came with huge expectations, this organization had pumped him up to the fans big time.

Cubs fans were ecstatic about the signing. Todd Hundley too. Cubs fans were ready to boo jacque heartily the moment he first stepped into the box at Wrigley. I dont believe that at all. Jones started out horrible, and the team was horrible, and it free falled from there.

    Ward should have got the start at first and Pie should be in Center. With the whole 'play the hot hand, rest the dead weight' philosophy Lou has employed all year, DeRo should be starting at first today. DeRo was given a shot in his hip after the game yesterday

    Actually, save one inning, he had a good start today. but he had that inning, and it wasn't a good start. except for the two home runs lilly gave up last night, he had a good day! Yea if a pitcher gives up 6 runs in 1 inning, and then doesnt allow anymore runs, is that considered a good start? Believe me, Im hoping Marquis can give up 4 or less the rest of the year, but Im not counting on it.

    Actually, save one inning, he had a good start today.That seems to be the problem with Marquis -- when he has a bad outing, it's usually one inning where he just self-implodes. Luckily, and unlike most other bad outings, he was able to bounce back after that bad inning today and pitch well for the rest of the game. Agreed, and Im very happy he was able to pitch well the rest of the game. Had it not been for some very very bad baserunning by the Reds in the 2nd inning, his outing could have been alot worse, but thank God Griffey forgot how to run the bases.

    I'm just doing PBP for those who don't have gameday and are at work and I got peronally attacked for no reason earlier, obviously by children. care to quote the personal attack for those who might have missed it, because i don't recall one "LOL nice personal attack jackass." After I asked the guy if he knew what he was talking about, about lineup order. After saying "are you dense" You started the personal attacks and have continued them throughout the thread
