  1. Its funny when you hear people talk about guys who suck they always bring up intagibles, but with good players its never brought up hmmmm.....
  2. Ahhh there you go thats why we got Monroe, Trammel speaks highly of his "intagibles" woooo
  3. overreaction much? No kidding. He gave up 2 runs. It happens. But an ace doesnt walk the opposing teams pitcher, and consistently have games of 4+ walks. Consistently is an understatement. It feels like Z walks something like 6 or 7 batters every.single.game. Umm thats why I said 4+

  5. So this is Z's meltdown inning huh. A walk to Cain, are you kidding me?
  6. well now WGN is back up but its showing Skilling, and not the game. Stay safe Chicago
  7. I lost it for a couple of minutes. Now it's on and off. Mine is still off, but all my other channels are good. These storms suck. Im in central IL and the winds that came through here were devastating.
  8. i heard there are tornado warnings in Chicago? I dont know about Chicago but the storm that just came thru the central IL area was crazy. Ripped roofs off houses and knocked a bunch of power lines over, some of the hardest winds Ive ever seen.
  9. Hey Aram, its ok to not swing at the 1st pitch every AB.
  10. Basically what I was expecting this entire time. Tuesday in Wrigley is going to be rocking, I am jealous of anyone who is going to that series.
  11. Hendry was a primary reason for building up that farm system in the early part of the decade. And hes been a primary reason for tearing up that farm system. As a GM hes torn it apart, so I dont think its too crazy to think maybe Hendry is overmatched as a GM.
  12. Cool down. I don't think many people here are praising Hendry's job as GM. I know I'm not. We're just saying this is a smart move. There are some who are saying this is a smart move, but there is an awful lot of Hendry ass kissing going on in this thread by some people.
  13. good job Fontenot, nice to see him hit the ball hard.
  14. WTF are you doing Ward? What a damn moron
  15. So did I miss when Hendry brought a World Series to Chicago with 100 + million payroll in basically every year hes been here? Hendry has destroyed what was a top 3 minor league system when he got here, and hasnt won anything in Chicago. The Cubs under Hendry have either been average, or below average since he got here, and thats with a 100+ million payroll to work with, but for those of you who like mediocrity go ahead and keep praising Hendry, because that is exactly what he has brought to this team since being the GM of Chicago.
  16. So why is Fontenot still getting ab's with this team? This experiment needs to end, and for the person who said it wouldve been a good day to get Pie a start, Pie is only allowed to pinch run, and play defense.
  17. If Lou is using the rational of starting weaker players who will get 4 ab's to save your better players for possibly 1 ab, and possibly no ab's, then he should be fired immediately. There really isn't as big of a discrepency between Floyd and Murton as you make it sound. I wouldn't classify Floyd as a "weaker" player and Murton as one of our "better" players. He's not starting Fontenot over Ramirez. They've both been non-productive. Honestly the hyperbole over this is just weird. Theres not a big discrepency? August OPS for Murton over .800 Floyds under .700 for the 2nd consecutive month, thats a big discrepency.
  18. If Lou is using the rational of starting weaker players who will get 4 ab's to save your better players for possibly 1 ab, and possibly no ab's, then he should be fired immediately. I dont think anyone here is bothered by Fox starting its Grandpa Floyd who is the problem
  19. What an ignorant post. Murton has put up a .820 OPS the month of August, and you dont get that by just hitting 2 solo shots. Murton has actually been propped up bigtime with his 3 HR's in August 55 AB's, .273/.333/.473, 3 HR, 2 2B Now that's just fine-HR's are a great way to prop up numbers because there is less luck involved. Really though, with such a small sample of at-bats, 2-3 home runs can mean the difference between being good and being awful. For example, Murton without those 3 HR's: 52 AB's, .231/.298/.269 So yes, the only thing Murton has done this month is those 3 HR's, but HR's are such a big scoring play that those are enough to make him have a good month so far anyway. Exactly those hr's are enough reason to justify him playing over Floyd who hasnt hit a hr since June 26, and has 2 consecutive months of sub .700 OPS.
  20. What an ignorant post. Murton has put up a .820 OPS the month of August, and you dont get that by just hitting 2 solo shots. Everytime I see him he gets an an out. .820?? I find it hard to believe.. I think it's all the Murton love that has lead me to hate the guy yeah I agree with this guy. The way Murton is loved around here, you would expect him to be winning batting titles. Yea give me a break. The numbers all point at Murton playing over Floyd at this point in the season. FLoyd has put up back to back sub .700 OPS the last 2 months.

I find it hard to believe.. I Its .806 after his AB last night which is still higher than Floyds. Floyd hasnt hit a HR since June 26! Floyd has 4 hr's in over 220 ab's while Murton has 4 in 175, and has at least hit one as recent as the damn All Star Break. Murton also has more doubles than Floyd this year, do I really need to go on about why Murton should be playing over Floyd? Especially when facing a lefty.
