    It's probably a combination of the long string of consecutive games that the Cubs are in, and the fact that Gaudin threw 52 pitches yesterday. It's not like they're stretching Dempster out in this game..they're just not taking him out early. Samardzija could pitch the last 2. Howry 1. Marmol or Wood 1. 90 pitches isn't a short outing. He was at 90 before this inning. It's not like Dempster is a 20 year old rookie. He should be fine. While Demp isnt 20, he also hasnt thrown this many innings in years. His pitch count, and innings need to be watched carefully.

    And its not a big deal None of our big three relievers pitched yesterday, so there's no problem here. Exactly, Marmols usage in the 2nd half has been just fine

    You know, I wonder if all the people clamoring for Hoff to take over for Lee for a lil while, will be bitching when Aram and Theriot start having throwing errors alot more often. Which would in turn make our pitchers work more, and have a lot better chance at giving up runs.

    Something Lee did during that last strikeout? Yea he grimaced on that last K, but I hope him coming back out to the field the next inning means this is precautionary.

    Fontenot is not the answer. If and when he starts playing everyday, I expect his numbers to come down. He had a fantastic month of July, but I really dont expect him to put up much better numbers than what Fukudome has this year.

    Lou makes the right move :shock: I guess Samardjiza's starting Sunday then? Just cause Marshall throws 1 inning here, doesnt mean he still cant start on Sunday. Hell Jeff went 2 or 3 innings the 1st game
