  1. From the sound of it, its going to be Lee and Bradley at DH.
  2. The only problem with that is that he was going to have Aaron Miles bat in that situation. So it's more or less giving up an out either way. Miles is still a better hitter than Dempster, and did just have a bloop single on Sat. Also the fact that Miles is the 1st ph off the bench is a completely different discussion.
  3. Richard Jefferson traded to the Spurs from the Bucks. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4281291
  4. Yea Danny Ainge has pretty much came out and said this is bogus.
  5. Tonight and tomorrows have some pretty intriguing pitching matchups.
  6. Give me Russel Branyon
  7. Yea Im thinking they make a pretty big trade, instead of drafting 2 new young guys. Stoudamire? Jamison? Bosh? Shaq? Those are the names Ive heard as possibilities.
  8. Like SSR, give me a rested and fresh Hart over a completely gassed Demp anyday of the week. Its not like Demp had a stress free night last night, and was lights out. He was in and out of trouble, and his control was off all night. You take the 6 innings 1 run that he gave you, and say thanks nice job, no reason to push him anymore.
  9. Just giving this a bump back to the 1st page with the draft 2 days away. What are the rumors out there right now? I heard the Bulls GM saying they have talked about moving every which way in the draft with the picks, and about other trades, but the trades they were discussing are "draft night trades". So whats everybody hearing?
  10. That doesnt sound good at all.
  11. I get the two and a half week thing, at least in theory. But at the same time, had he pulled dempster it would have required a whole 3 innings from our bullpen. That's nothing. I could see if Demps was at like 100 pitches in the 5th and he decided to keep him out for the sixth, but not the 7th. When the pen has thrown 14.1 innings the last three days, three more innings on the fourth day is certainly something. Again, especially with a long stretch without an off day that started yesterday. Kevin Hart was ready and rested, and able to go for a few innings as hes been starting in Iowa. They could always send Hart or Ascanio down to get a fresh arm up, or they could just do the smart thing and quit holding Patton up here. Noway in hell should Demp been allowed to throw that many pitches, in that heat, when he was clearly gassed. Lou is asleep at the wheel this year.
  12. According to the news, he was found in a hotel room with "self inflicted injuries" and is in the hospital right now untill he is well enough to be let go to the FBI.
  13. Cardinals go to New York to play the Mets for a 4 game series. ESPN 2 6:10 central time. Very underwhelming pitching matchup of Wellemeyer vs Redding. Oh and Carlos Beltran was DL'd today so the Cards miss him of course. Mets lineup looks pretty bad Cora Murphy Wright Tatis Church Santos Reed Castillo Redding Yes Tatis is their cleanup hitter... Stl lineup Schu 2B Rasmus CF Pujols 1B Ludwick RF Ankiel LF Molina C K.Greene 3B Wellemeyer P Ryan SS Go Mets :-&
  14. Hopefully Demp has the strikeout working tonight. I like resting Bradley tonight, and Id have him DH tomorrow as well. Give him 2 days off from the field during this stretch could be a good thing.
  15. Im going to assume Fox is playing Rf since hes batting 3rd.... Not a terrible lineup and glad to keep seeing Blanco in there over Miles.
  16. I was there Sat and as soon as they announced DeRo as PH and the crowd gave him the standing O, I looked at my 3 buddies and said "thats effing ignorant, you dont do that at this point of the game". They all agreed. Had it been the 1st inning or whatever fine, but I seriously think there are alot of Cubs fans who wouldve cheered had he got a hit at that point in the game.
  17. Huh? Fuku does not hit left handed pitching better than Reed.
  18. I'm guessing Bradley will get a day off. CF Fukudome 3B Fontenot 1B Lee RF Hoffpauir LF Fox C Soto SS Blanco 2B Miles Bradley is getting the day off only if Reeds back is ok according to what Ive read, and it seems like it wont be.
  19. Yea I was there also, sitting in the left/center bleachers, and the bleachers cleared out quite a bit when the 9th inning was over. I was like wtf. Yea it was hot as hell, and I definately paid for it(forehead and head with blisters from sunburn) but that was the best game Ive ever been to in person. The only thing I was wondering is if people had the 5pm Amtrak to hit or something.
  20. Yea I really dont know where the whole"Greg Maddux didnt have good stuff" came from, but Ive heard it alot. Maddux had one of the best moving fastballs of any pitcher Ive ever seen, and his curve was no slouch either. Maddux was very smart, but he also had some very good stuff also.
  21. He was just comparing BA as a whole and BA with RISP, to which Dunn's numbers are extremely similar to Bradley's. He didn't say anything about the power numbers. I guess I was looking at his quote and thinking he was talking about the "hes hitting but hes not producing". If what you said is right then ok ignore me.
  22. This never seems to be an issue when people talk about Dunn. Huh? Dunn may only hit .246 sometimes but he slugs over .500. Most people wouldnt care about Bradleys .245 avg or whatever it is if he was slugging better than .398. and had more than 16 RBI. Your comparison really makes no sense. Give it time, he had two doubles today and he's been swinging the bat a lot better lately. It was unfair of everyone to expect this guy to duplicate the numbers he had last year at one of the best hitters parks in all of baseball. He's showing plenty of signs of snapping out of his funk, unlike our $16 million per season man. Oh Im not saying anything negative about Bradley in my comment. I just dont understand shnsajax's comment.
