So basically Barney is the one with the most options, but hes also the only backup to Castro at SS. -

I'd bet we've had scouts keeping an eye on him the last couple weeks. If we really are that down on DeWitt, he's almost certainly a better option than just handing the job to Baker. Quade seems to realize Baker is much better option vs leftys than playing everyday. I wouldnt be opposed to a Baker/Castillo platoon. Does DeWitt still have options? -
Wouldnt be surprised at all if the Cubs show interest. They have shown interest in the past, and DeWitt hasn't hit or played D very well this spring. In 2009 Castillo put up pretty decent numbers, and hes always had a good k:walk ratio. Also in 2009 he hit rightys much better than leftys. Hes going to be cheap and thats right up Hendrys alley at this point

Any particular reason? Today's lineup puts potentially the 3 worst OPS players 1-2-3 in the lineup. Would you really have a problem with Castro in the 2 spot? I'm more pleased with the structure of the middle of the lineup than anything. No, but Baker in the 1 spot and Byrd in the 3 spot are both putrid. It's certainly agruable that those two should be batting 7-8 (Byrd 7, Baker 8). I have no problem with baker leading off if there is a left on the mound(not sure if that was case today or not) -
