  2. no it isn't i wish the five guys you proclaimed to be better options than junior lake would also easily luck into 400 or so at bats. A lot of them have at some point in their career. Coghlan's 2009, Sweeney's 2008-2009.
  3. If having 400 insanely fluky PAs makes you a good starter, then he's been a good starter. But he's probably not going to be anymore. yeah, you said that 2 months ago, if i recall right that was when you were predicting a -1 WAR season and declared Coghlan (-.4 fWAR), Sweeney (-.5 fWAR), Kalish (-.4 fWAR), Darnell McDonald (lol), etc. as clearly better alternatives you're not needed here Whether I'm needed or not, I'm right.

  5. Seeing as how the Cubs' entire PR campaign is based around convincing people the rooftops are preventing them from renovating Wrigley Field, it's a reasonable thing to report.
  6. Now take out being able to charge 15 times the MLB average for a ticket and having 2 million a year in season tickets guaranteed.
  7. I imagine they'd have to sit down and do the math on whether the cost of the patchwork each year is more than the cost of a longer-term fix. And of course, they can expand revenue in a bunch of different ways that have no impact on the rooftop views either, so that's not entirely off the table.
  8. Sure you are. If you don't, it crumbles around you and you have no revenue streams. Yep, they'd have no ability to move anywhere else. It'd be pretty dumb to refuse to renovate Wrigley Field without new revenue and then spend a bunch of money to build a new park with even less revenue.
  9. Ok, Ok. I get it man. It's just the inevitable thing about hockey that goals going in is about as random as BABIP but we very much base our perceptions on how a team played by it. They played fine last night. Better than they did, say, in Game 6 in Minnesota.
  10. I thought they played fine last night. Sometimes the other team's shots go in a lot more than you'd like.
  11. Horsepoop. If they want so badly to be just like all the other teams, cut ticket prices in half and quit scalping your own tickets. Until then, I don't feel too badly that you don't have quite as much signage as the Pirates.
  12. Sure you are. If you don't, it crumbles around you and you have no revenue streams.
  13. Really? Are you an architect, Kyle? You can modernize Wrigley Field, give it the revenue streams to make it comparable to other large market parks, and unequivocally not disturb the rooftops...... This: is a [expletive] PR concept that is completely meaningless and tries to redefine what "renovation" means into something completely different from renovation.
  14. There are no repercussions for renovating the park. You can renovate the park from here to doomsday without bothering the rooftops.
  15. The contract isn't dumb. When the Cubs are good, they get quite a bit of essentially free revenue from the rooftops. It's not the contracts fault that the Cubs have been mismanaged into oblivion and that revenue has disappeared.
  16. Remember when they lost like all of February in 2010 and they weren't even going to make the playoffs?
  17. After we were down 0-2 to St. Louis. Names redacted to protect the innocent:
  18. And we're 2-4 on the road Going to be 3-4 in a couple of days.
  19. Kings shoulda been humble enough to leave it at 4-2. Now they've tugged on Superman's cape. Chicago in five.
  20. Now they made us mad. Game 3 is back in play.
  21. Is his OBP on the right side of .300 yet?
  22. I think this one might be gone...
  23. You said that like 3 times already I'm gonna say it once for every time some dork tries to call me out for having the audacity to believe in this team.
