  1. I can understand the emotion of it. But anyone who has even the slightest understanding of the probabilities involved knows that unless it is peak Bonds, you don't put the damn tying run on first base.
  2. My stream crapped out and apparently the intern that runs MLB gameday has given up and gone to bed.
  3. I was never wildly concerned about his future, but he's not going to BABIP .400 or whatever forever.
  4. There's a lot of shiny toy syndrome among fans. A lot of people were *sure* that Rundblad would have to be better than Rozsival, too, and Q was just being a meanie by playing Rozsival over a guy like that.
  5. We're fine. Sometimes pucks just don't go in. Because hockey, or whatever.
  6. Wait, this happened? I remember it coming up in the offseason in regards to Rizzo and Bryant, and even Soler or Russell, but when were people opposed to trading Castro or Baez for Harper? If I was one of the idiots who said such a thing, please punch me in the back of the head, because wow. And yeah, I'd definitely not trade Rizzo, probably not Bryant, but any of the other 4 would be gone without a second thought. I think most people were in favor of either when it came up last winter, but there've been a few times it came up over the years idly, like "would you trade anyone for Castro?" stuff.
  7. How do we feel about trading Baez or Castro for Harper now, out of curiosity?
  8. League average is a tick below 80. It generally runs from 70 to 90, although occasionally guys exist just a bit outside that range for awhile.
  9. I thought they looked like the better team for most of the game. Anaheim got some pucks to go in, we didn't, we got burned late when we had to press. Happens.
  10. It makes you appreciate how slow and awkward Fowler is out there even when making diving catches.
  11. Nope, just the second one. I'm sure *some* relationship exists between a small-sample exit velocity and future performance, but how strong is it? Is it like contact rate, where it means a lot in a relatively short period, or is it something that needs a lot of time to stabilize like Line Drive Percentage?
  12. I'm vaguely reminded of 2001 (I think?) when we lost 8 in a row to fall to .500 or 1 game over, then immediately won 12 in a row.
  13. I like having 4.5 games between us and the Pirates.
  14. In three months, I get everything two hours earlier and it's going to be awesome.
