  1. Somebody loan Theo a gorilla suit.
  2. I think you have to go down with the ship at this point. And he's still way better than Chase Daniel.

  4. It wasn't about just running it more. Many of the pass plays that were called were of basically the same concept. Look 10 yards down the field. If that pass isn't available, force it anyway or dump it. There was no attempt to spread the field in the entire first half. The safeties were leaning forward on every play call because every play that was called was in front of them. You brag about having all of this amazing speed (Cohen, Gabriel, Patterson) and you do absolutely nothing with it. Maybe the coach knows more about Trubisky than we do, and that spreading the field is just not an option with this QB. If that's the case, it's going to be a long season. I'm not nearly enough of an expert to assign an exact percentage live, but I'm pretty sure that not going down the field wasn't playcalling but rather a combination of the offensive line not giving him any time and Trubisky panicking and checking down too early.
  5. Counterpoint to all the playcalling complaints: Running the ball is dumb and pointless and you should only do it to run out the clock when you're winning. Passing is awesome and wins games, if you're good at it. And if you're not, you deserve to lose anyway so who cares.
  6. As pointless as Trubisky looked, let's not overlook how feckless and overmatched the offensive line looked.
  7. At least I still have the Hangzhou Spark tonight.
  8. He made up his mind he was making that throw coming out of the huddle. Didn't even think about reading the defense.
  9. The Raiders might get a helluva guy with our first-rounder.
  10. Season over, Trubisky isn't good enough, start the rebuild
  11. You take how many yards you would have gotten if it's defensive pass interference and reverse it.
  12. Not their pitching? Just that one type of at-bat? Weird. I was pretty sure it was the pitching.
  13. Nothing I have read in 25 years of online baseball message boards has convinced me anyone who posts on them can actually make meaningful predictions about A-ball teenagers.
  14. It's a combination of a couple things. Impending free agents, the lack of first-round picks, the historical short longevity of elite defenses. If they can't get it done this year, it's tough to see next year as better.
  15. Women in men's sports comments are the unparalleled worst comments on the internet, and internet comments are the worst thing humanity has collectively produced.
  16. The only reason I like seeing them open is so they can close
  17. This bears season is scary because the last few years have been structured for a window that was pretty much last year and this year. It gets dicey fast as you look into the future.
  18. I’m pretty sure being legit mad about the Heyward signing would be revisionist history for most Cubs fans. Everyone I know was pretty pumped about it. I mean, we have the receipts As much as I enjoy the doom bonering that's been going on lately and how frustrated everyone is with Theo, it's still true that we *have* made the playoffs every year since the signing and probably will this year too. It's disappointing to see the gap that has emerged between us and the Dodgers/Astros, and but it hasn't actually burned us yet (I guess outside of blowing the divsion last year)
  19. That's not a "side" of kap, it is who he has always been and always will be. He's equal parts jock sniffer and meatball. it's like he took lessons on it from barry rozner I don't think Barry Rozner could remove himself from Greg Maddux's weiner long enough to give anyone a lesson on anything.
  20. Be patient. Give it another year or two, that's coming.
