Nuh uh! Babe Ruth never played against black pitchers or never faced a forkball and would pee himself if stepping up to the plate against the flamethrowers of today because nobody threw faster than 80 mph back in those days and he'd be a AAAA player at best in todays game!! All athletics have improved over time. The top talents from back then could probably get up to speed with some time and training, but if we just plunked guys from then and placed them into a ballgame today, they'd be worse than in their own era. And average players from today would be way better back then.

It's the camera angles. They are using a camera in the upper deck down the 3rd base line. You can't see where the pitches are. I would argue that you can't really see where the pitches are with any accuracy from the normal camera angle, it just fools us into thinking we can :)

lol, Chipper Jones did that on purpose. That ball was perfectly placed to make the camera-angle look good.

I assume B&W? Awful. Is it at least in HD? I dunno. I'm (relatively) poor. Plus, maybe it's my glasses, but HD always looks fuzzy to me.

And that's exactly why there's no real correlation to winning one-run games and being good at baseball. If your middle relief sucks, they can turn a 5-2 lead into a 5-4 win just as easily as they can turn a 3-2 lead into a 4-3 loss. 10-8 is pretty much right where you'd expect a team of our caliber to be.
