  1. what if murton is on when murton is batting? ghost runner?
  2. 1988  i bet someone that it had probably been 15 years. i thought i would have remembered it if it was just last year.
  3. this would be interesting. because prior could easily be in the same boat when he comes back, or at least a prohibitive pitch count. maddux and z would only want regular rest. you would want to avoid prior and wood starting back to back games to save the bullpen. dusty might have his hands full keeping everyone rested/not rusty.
  4. I may get to see Marmol's major league debut this week in Houston! i guess they dont have any guys in Iowa. will marmol be used as a starteer or long relief? edit: minor leage forum says he'll be used in the pen.
  5. dont compare hungo to caray. hungo is an aroogant buffoon.
  6. when is the last time cubs swept cards at STL?
  7. Having Patterson and Perez bat 1-2 in front of a guy having the season any player could dream of last year made a lot of sense. But of course, he can make "the right lineups." Who would you bat 1 and 2 last year walker or whoever was at 2nd base, for one. walker-patterson-lee is better than patterson-perez-lee. barrett would have been great batting 2nd, too.
  8. I'd settle for seeing him win one. here's a fun fact...how many runs have the cubs scored in hill's four losses? 1 (that's combined) pretty sure it wouldn't matter much if hill had an era of 8 or 1...the offense is the problem, not rich hill. It's really convenient to toss that out and then not mention how many runs he's given up in his games pitched this season. Hell, last season, too. Obviously, the offense is letting guys down, but Hill on the mound typically means you need 5-6 runs just to keep it close, almost every single time. He's a useless sack of meat. Greg Maddux: SEASON TEAM G GS CG SHO IP H R ER HR BB SO W L ERA 1986 ChC 6 5 1 0 31.0 44 20 19 3 11 20 2 4 5.52 1987 ChC 30 27 1 0 156.2 181 111 97 17 74 101 6 14 5.61 He turned out ok. ok. so dont give rich away for nothing. but to be fair, maddux was quite a bit younger then than rich is now
  9. i missed it. what was said?
  10. cant say i blame barrett. collisions are part of the game, but you cant trash talk after running into a sitting duck at full speed. you touch the plate and make your way back to the dugout.
  11. which they would probably waste
  12. dee and james had a rough start there, but finished strong.
  13. i'm an alum from, dont make me count, less than 10 yrs ago.
  14. let's not take anything for granted go titans!!
  15. XM hasnt started the pregame yet, what gives? ok, there getting ready to start they say..
  16. what else did fick do, other than the chop in 03?
  17. williams would have more value with this option year in a trade, right? so i dont see how the cubs shouldnt bring up williams and send guzman down.
