  1. Was hoping SLU would get a 3. Midwest touney plays in California?
  2. Nice adjustment of the flop mid-flop to avoid flopppng into Hardway.
  3. What did he do? Acted like he was shot in the side of the face to try to draw a flagrant foul. There's a decent chance there was no contact and if there was, it was completely minimal. Then he flopped and rolled around while holding the side of his face. I didn't think he was even close to being hit. It was worth a try, no technical for flopping. Still a douche, though he's my douche. So was that something they work on in practice, did Crean make it up in the huddle, or did Shehey come up with it on his own?
  4. Oladipo can do about anything, but ball handling isnt a strength from what i've seen. Great win tonight for SLU. Beating Butler will be the road win they lacked to be a top 15-20 team. Basically a defensive team without any real stars.
  5. Since this is the TV thread, what # is the limit on games for WGN America, and why? Its an MLB rule correct?
  6. Didnt IU have a ton of early turnovers? As bad as UI was shooting, IU would've been up 20+ early if they took care of the ball. As far as the officiating goes, it seemed pretty even though UI got some flop calls. I'm ok with that. Whats the season record for fouls when setting a pick? Egwu has been a real monster this season.
  7. Musial was on the same team as Griffey Jr's grandpa in high school. I bet he was a decent player, too.
  8. it was never cute. but yes, somebody actually thought it was an english communication once. the grandest wordsmith of all time at that. I still think "cow-towing" was the best (but not a Bummism) Was it the bum who used the phrase "gave (someone) a black guy" instead of "black eye"? That's got to be the best(worst) Bummism.
  9. He's never in foul trouble, its ridiculous.
  10. When I watched that live I dont remember that shot on the ESPN feed, they only showed the worthless shot from behind the shooter. I would hope the refs had every angle before overturning the call.
  11. I've literally never seen that before. I was watching this with no audio, did the announcers say anything about this?
  12. How would you feel about this team with Leonard? Top 5? We have zero post presence. Lot of odd calls tonight - evens out i think, carries called, lot of tie-ups which are usually fouls.
  13. I can't imagine they would miss either or both of those guys if they were unable to resign them on minor league deals. Valbuena was a league average 3B making < 500k, so I don't think they're getting him on a MiLB deal and there's no cost savings to non-tendering him. It wouldn't be back-breaking to replace him, but considering they don't have anyone who can come close to that right now, I don't see much benefit to not keeping him around for the time being, especially since he can easily slide to a bench role with his ability to play 2B. Valbuena was league average? His 650 ops was 17th in the NL for 3B with at least 300 ABs. Was his D that good?
  14. All this talk of TV megadeals means either TV was getting a really sweet deal for the last few years or is vastly overpaying now. At least for the playoffs, TV viewing has been down some years in a row now.
  15. Agreed, I love feeling confident that we will at least get a shot off at the end of games. Too many times the past five years we would turn the be all over or go for a two down three with not time left. Seems like they take a lot less bad 2s, but it could be that they simply get to the end of the shot clock less.
  16. ok i get the 20-80 scale, but whats the 5, 6, 7, scale, based out of 10? i'm hoping its 1-8. Also whats "first division"? Top 20% of players in that position? ETA: unless i'm missing something the 2010 draft looks like a pile of hot garbage
  17. expecting bears to get called for PI here
  18. "moral victories" just cost you draft picks. All the tiebreakers at the end of the season will be a little less confusing.
  19. Amendola is a beast. Had 80 yd reception called back (illegal formation) and 60+ ud rrturn brought back for clipping.
  20. Any chance UI is better than 9-10? Havent really looked at roster or thought much about this season yet. Looking for some optimism here.
  21. Heard somewhere that the Tigers are flying their instructional league team up for scrimmages, which they didnt do before. Won't quite be the same (throwing inside, etc) but better than nothing.
  22. We were upset that Werth swung at 3-0 pitch with a 5 run lead and bases loaded in the 5th. Isnt it worse to take pitches/walks if you are worried at running up the score? Pitch was a strike but not down the middle. I dont get it. More embarrassing to walk in a run.
  23. Castro was number 16 in 2010, but otherwise you have to go back to 2005 to find someone make the Top 25. Tragically, that was Dopirak at #21. I stand corrected. You're right, I remembered wrong. how high was prior? i dont know where to look that up
  24. On today's podcast Law said that he doesnt consider Viczaino to have history of multiple injuries, just the elbow ligament. Something to the effect that he missed time in the past when they were trying to rehab the elbow before giving up and finally doing TJS.
  25. Murdered? I would advise you find a replay. He was barely touched and pulled a Blake Griffin to buy a call. You must've misread- I was talking about the huge KU goon crushing the MU guard last play of regulation.
