  1. On BBTN, Gammons says Clemens may wait until July to return.
  2. Fearless prediction: Player of the Game ---> Brian Dopirak
  3. And you want Greenberg to start over Pierre or platoon with Murton? I don't see where Greenberg would fit on this current team. Not dogging Greenberg, I do like him but again, don't see where he'd fit. Atleast Mabry can play a couple a couple different positions. I'd rather have Sing than Greenberg, actually. Platoon with Jones. Greenberg gives you a back up at all three outfield positions. Hairston backs up secondbase and left field. Blanco is your catcher. Perez can back up third if needed as can Theriot. The only spot not explicitly covered is first. Lee doesn't take many days off and if he does, I'm sure Walker can cover there.
  4. ESPN is having Baseball Tonight at 11:15 tonight. I know they're all morons...but it's baseball!
  5. Awesome. The Cubs came back and won this one. 1-0 on the Spring. And with the exception of a pitcher who won't likely see Iowa much less Chicago, the Cubs threw a shut-out! Go Cubs!
  6. Good ol' Jason Giambi. "If your hands get cold, just put them between your buttocks. That's nature's pocket." Haha, awesome. There's got to be a few steroid jokes in that pic too. I was thinking..."All those steroids...I can't find my nuts!"
  7. Z has to look sharp. He's pitching 4 innings for Venezuela on Tuesday.
  8. That can't be right. We all know Walker is horrible defensively.
  9. They make headphones for the MiFi that also have a built-in antenae. Has anyone tried these and do they work better than the clip on antenae?
  10. 188, I think. You can go to http://www.xmradio.com and it will show you.
  11. I'm setting the TiVo!
  12. Is anyone doing pbp for those of us who can't listen?
  13. Stations are not allowed to provide internet feeds of live games. You'll have to subscribe to MLB audio to listen over the net.
  14. For those wanting some grapefruit league scores, at the end of three, Mets lead the Cardinals 9-4. In the middle of five, Tampa leads Toronto 6-0. Pirates over the Nationals 2-1 in the fourth. Dodgers lead the Braves 3-1 in the fifth. Florida is beating Baltimore 3-1. Indians over the Astros 5-2 in the fifth, and Tigers over Reds 5-2 also in the fifth.
  15. Talk in Tampa is that Lugo may sign an extension to stay there. Link If Lugo signs an extension, would that push Upton to thirdbase? The outfield is already stocked with Crawford, Baldelli, Gomes, and Young on the way.
  16. I can see a Williamson for Graffanino trade happening and I will be cursing the whole time.
  17. One hour to go...and I'm so ticked that I have a class to teach this afternoon (though, they're typing research papers so I'm not doing much teaching), because I so wanna hear Pat say, "Chicago Cubs baseball is on the air!"
  18. It depends. If the Cubs are already out of the race by then you should be ok. :thumright: My father-in-law who's a Card fan may go with me, but if he doesn't I'm going to be looking for a Cubs fan so that there will be two of us in the suite.
  19. If the Astros start off bad and have to pay Bagwell's salary, are they even going to want to give Clemens over 10 million for 5 months? Has Clemens said he will take much less to play with them? I doubt Clemens takes less to play for them. They are aware of that and it's partailly why they didn't want to offer him arbitration and be stuck with a bill of over 20 million for this season. Word around the league seems to be that Hicks is willing to spend lots to get Clemens to Arlington. I'm not sure what the Astros would offer, but it would be at least 13-15 million.
  20. Ah...here's the link. It's in a story in regards to the Giants wanting a DH for Bonds. Link. It appears both clubs must agree to a DH for it to be used in a NL park.
  21. I think I've read that it's up to both teams to decide if a DH will be used when it's at a NL park in the spring. I'll try to find the link if I can.
  22. Large quantities...that must be a reference to Ponson.
