  1. ahhhhh hahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahaha!
  2. Cedeno's line is abysmal.
  3. Where have we gotten anything that says Drew doesn't want to play in Chicago?
  4. Cubs.com has an article about Cotts' reaction to the trade. Link.
  5. If 8th inning Gonzalez can still play SS, he'd be a better option than Izturis.
  6. Here's the deal I offer Drew: 2007: 15 (No trade protection) 2008: 15 (No trade protection) 2009 Team option for 15 million (or 2 million buyout) or Player option for 12 million. (Limited 10 team no-trade) 2010: Team option for 15 million. (Limited 10 team no-trade) If the Cubs opt out after 2 years, he's guaranteed 2/32. If the Cubs pick up the option it could be 3/45 or 4/60. If he picks up his option in 2009, it would be 3/40 or 4/55. Drew has some flexibility and the team does as well. It pays him quite well.
  7. I'm really starting to think that Bonds at 1/10 might be better than Drew at 5/65 or Soriano at 7/120.
  8. My wife is now purchasing organic milk, usually the skim milk variety. She said something about hormones given to cows or something like that. I prefer the flavored milk they give out here in the cafeteria. We have chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla. They're all 2% and are pretty yummy.
  9. What this thread is missing is CubsBullsBears coming in and admonishing everyone in all caps that we should have fleeced the White Sox.
  10. I think the best part of these announcements is that it looks like we're re-establishing a presence in the Pacific Rim.
  11. Maybe we can trade Izturis to whoever misses out on Gonzalez.
  12. Honestly, he could handle being a LOOGY in the big leagues to start the season. Obviously, there are guys in front of him on the depth chart. Hi, Jim.
  13. For the record, in the new CBA I believe the minimum salary is raised to a little over 400K, so those 350 estimates are off by a bit.
  14. I guess this thread was a whole lot of hub-bub about nothing.
  15. Why oh why was a LH setup guy given any sort of NTC?? :x They were on special that week.
  16. We might hear some flip over the post game spread comments though. And if he does, Glendon is going to be pissed!
  17. Eyre would have value as a trading chip. He has two years and a little under 8 million left on his deal. Jamie Walker is about to sign a 3/12 deal with Baltimore. One thing that will complicate moving Eyre is he can block a trade to ten teams. I'm not sure which teams are on that list. He had full no-trade protection for 2006 with limited protection these next two seasons.
  18. You can go to http://www.diamondjaxx.com to see a list of what they still have. I decided two wasn't enough and bought Marshall and Mateo's home jersey today. She also said she had the pants Prior wore in his rehab start.
  19. With Koyie Hill who has played 50 games in the majors along with Reyes, Soto, Fox and the kid we got in the Perez trade, we've stockpiled catchers.
  20. It's a great move for the Braves. Salty is blocked by McCann, they are looking to move Giles anyway, and Peavy easily makes Ramirez expendable. I'm trying to see it from the Padres point of view, and I'm having a hard time. Salty isn't major league ready. Ramirez isn't anything spectacular. Giles is good, but at the price of Peavy...I'm not sure.
  21. I can understand trading Aardsma in that we're overloaded with bullpen guys. We still have Dempster, Wood, Howry, Wuertz, and Novoa from the right side. That's almost a complete bullpen right there...but to get another bullpen arm back is puzzling. I'd have to think another trade is in the works, likely for Eyre. I liked Eyre from a personality stand-point. He was a nice guy. But, his comments after Dusty was not retained may have punched his ticket out of town.
