  1. Yeah, it's a Wyndam (sp?) now. Most of the teams moved from there, though a few like the A's still stay there.
  2. Wanna give me a quick answer to where they are staying at in Arlington, TX? Four Seasons (972-717-0700). Also, when I edit it I'll move it back to Baseball Discussions for the season, since that's where people will probably think to look. Thanks to Serena (er, Laura :D ) for that suggestion. Thanks. That's funny that they are staying all the way in Dallas. That's going to be a 30 minute drive for them to get to the park. Most teams either stay at the Worthington in Fort Worth.
  3. Unless those are some really good prospects, the Braves aren't letting Salty go. They are extremely high on him.
  4. In other words, everyone get your entries in while you can find this!

  6. Wieters, Price, then Brackman. I'm still concerned the Cubs will take the toolsy high school outfielder from Florida.
  7. I wonder if we could get Jon Niese from the Mets... :-k
  8. You should be teaching if you have a room full of students!!!!!! At least look at NSBB on your planning period, like I am doing right now :) I am. They working on reading comprehension sections, and when they finish we go over it. So, I'm teaching for 10-15 mins, and then they work for 10-15 mins. .....Those kids are in trouble. What level do you teach? (Thats a serious question, not part of my lame joke). oops...I'll fix it. I teach 7th and 8th grade. We're nearly a week until standardized testing, so we're spending lots of time reading short selections and identifying key words, main idea, inferences, etc.

  10. Apparenlty, Miller doesn't want to go to the bullpen if he isn't the fifth starter. So, if Prior or Guzman win the fifth starter's job over Miller, where could he go. One possibility opened up today. Braves hurler, Mike Hampton is injured again, and this time it's believed to be a strained oblique that could keep him out until May. If that's the case, the Braves could need a starter to slide into the rotation behind Smoltz, Hudson, James, and Davies. Could the Cubs package Miller with another prospect in order to net Yunil Escobar? The Cubs could send Miller, a bullpen arm (Novoa), plus another prospect to the Braves for Escobar. The Cubs might could even offer Haufpauir if he continues to hit this spring. While Haufpauir isn't considered much of a prospect, the Braves aren't settled at first and going there may actually open a chance to play which he won't have here.
  11. You're starting pitching looks good, and the offense isn't terrible. Unless you're punting saves, you'll need to find a closer. I'd try to trade an SP for one. You might could even package two pitchers and aim for a top notch closer to help on saves and then try to pick up one of the guys that will fight for saves.
  12. Recap for those of us with a room full of students and can't listen, please.
  13. So, what teams are looking for a fifth starter, and what could we get in exchange for Miller? I can think of the Mets, Nationals, Mariners, and Rangers who could be in the market for a starter. The Cardinals and Astros might as well, but we'd be hesitant to deal with those two.
  14. The only thing that might have been crazier is if he'd let Zambrano take swings at it to test the cup.
  15. While I'd consider this deal, we already have a great deal of depth with our SP. If, by the end of spring: 1. Pie looks ready and/or Soriano is having trouble adapting to CF. 2. Prior and Miller still don't look ready to contribute. 3. Non of our young starters (Guzman, Marshall) appear ready I'd then consider making this move. If either of those do not exist, I think we're better off with Jones in the line-up than Lieber in the rotation.

  17. so, I can't enter, but I thought some of you might like to try. If you write my essay, I will submit it and we can split the tickets. You actually don't have to write one. When you go to the entry form, it says that submitting an essay has no bearing on your chance of winning.
  18. Cubs.com is having a contest where people can win tickets to Opening Day. Link. Unfortunately for me, the rules read: so, I can't enter, but I thought some of you might like to try.
  19. I just got a report out of Arizona that they had a tee set up near homeplate, and Prior just simulated a delivery while someone ran out and put the ball on the tee.
