  1. Unless Arod can play SS, he won't play for the Cubs.
  2. I like the way those look.
  3. I would think you might thank Premium Ticket Services for that one.
  4. It's almost sig worthy. Bruce should put it in his sig! :)
  5. There's a good article in today's Trib on Cherry and his chances at making the team. Link.
  6. Really good article by Bruce in today's Herald. Link. And my favorite part,
  7. I'm starting to think LaRussa and Duncan could take a random bum sleeping on the street and at bare minimum, turn them into a decent middle reliever. God do I hate the Cardinals (BTW: a coworker in the St. Louis branch of my company says the Cardinals are spending a couple of million dollars to further upgrade Busch stadium. More escalators, even larger scoreboard, more bathrooms, larger pressbox and more decorations. Plus they'll have signs plastered all over saying "World Series Champs") *sigh* I can confirm this...those damn signs are going up as we speak... Can you confirm whether or not these signs are in the urinals? They should be.
  8. There will be plenty available. Your choice of games might be limited somewhat. That's what I meant. My friends and I already have tix to the Apr 11th and 12th games. We were hoping to get some for one of those days then just sell our bleacher tix that we have. I'm afraid those games might be gone by 11 because they are value games. I don't know. Value games go quickly because they are so much cheaper, but the prime games like White Sox and Cardinals are still desired. At 11, you have a decent shot for something there.
  9. I joined and don't expect to do nearly as well as last season.
  10. Link. And apparently, Rose wants to manage again...

  12. According to rotoworld, TLR has indicated that both Edmonds and Encarnacion will likely start the year on the DL.
  13. Last year they had times all the way until 3 or 4.
  14. Thanks for taking the time to visit with us. What's your favorite minor league city to visit? Who was your favorite team and player growing up?
  15. I don't like the idea of making roster decisions based on service time, and who is going to put up the biggest stink. I agree with your premise, but we don't really know what the Cubs told Miller to entice him to sign again, either. If they told him he would be starting or traded, then he has every right to be upset if they send him to the bullpen. Regardless, he should make the rotation because he wins the job with everything else being equal, not because of ancillary concerns. It really doesn't matter what they told him. We paid him 1 million to let him use the Cubs to rehab last season. We got nothing in return from that. If he can pitch well enough to win the spot, great. If Guz is better, Guz it should be.
  16. I doubt they cut him in the spring out of fear of losing a grievance.
  17. I like that idea. I doubt a deal could be done that is that simple, but that could be the framework to get something done.
  18. The Cubs started this trend with premium pricing and most teams have followed suit. For most teams, there are far fewer games that qualify for this type of pricing.
  19. From the Trib article, it looks like Guzman could win this thing with a strong performance against the Sox.
  20. Nope. Novoa for Walker sounds like a better idea. The Padres would love to move Walker's contract. I wouldn't send them anything remotely useful.
