  1. Was that someone here, or is a local getting in on the chastisement.
  2. Nice! Now you have two blogs to write. ;) I plan on getting to work on something in the near future. I'll also try to keep up with the re-caps this year if that's something you want me to do.
  3. You assume my math skills are strong enough to put that together. There's a reason I have a teaching certification in English/Language Arts and my first college degree was Religion/History. If you have some data you'd like to share, I might dumb it down for my readers though.
  4. Maybe that's why they weren't counted. I could see them throwing those out as one person's attempt to put their team over the top. Well, each was signed by an actual person with an address on it as well. I know they counted some of them, because the vote fro Karylon Thorton was one of them. There was nothing that said votes had to be hand-written.
  5. Well NSBB does get a plug in the bio for my fantasy blog on their web site.
  6. I appreciate the nice comments. The first one is always the easiest. I figure the hard part will be coming up with ideas each week. By the end of April, I may be soliciting readers for questions so I can take a mailbag approach. I'll probably use this thread to post links when I have a new one up.
  7. Our local paper here in Monroe was looking for someone to contribute an online fantasy blog. I was selected. Here's a link (Scroll down a bit if it's not at the top.) In my bio, I even gave NSBB a plug. I don't consider myself a fantasy expert at all, but I thought I'd give it a try. If any of you have any ideas for a weekly collumn, let me know.
  8. I left this comment on the comments section under the story.
  9. yea, i think this is bull....surely they got more than 449 total votes....i would call them out on it....send a letter to the editor and keep sending one until they reply to it in the paper. I haven't decided what I'm going to do yet, if anything. Probably nothing...but this does prove it's rigged. I can understand scrutiny with the email votes, maybe...but there were over 100 signed letters for the Cubs that I know were dropped off at the front desk of the newspaper. The first batch dropped off around 2 pM on Wednesday had 20 votes in it and the second one dropped off around 3 PM Thursday had over 80. That's 100 votes there not counting the email ones. So, I don't know who is doing the counting, but they aren't doing a decent job of it. I know that all of the "letters" dropped off were signed with an address that is local, so if they wanted to verify them, they could. I think they don't want to cover anyone but the Astros, but if they went by geography, the Rangers make more sense than the Astros. To make it make sense to their bosses (this is a Gannett run newspaper), they utilize this poll. Of course, they have to fix the results so that they don't have to cover the Cubs. 100 written votes vance? i'm guessing there are some students with cramped writing hands at your school  Actually, a pre-printed letter was circulated with a place for name and address at the bottom. 100 of those were signed and addressed. I had some help with it.

This is Louisiana we are talking about. No offense Vance, but in the land of the King Fish this sort of thing is bound to happen. Speak kindly of the King Fish. We're distantly related. :)

  12. He wasn't good enough to beat out Luke Scott or Jason Lane. I'll take Floyd and Pagan over him at this point. Luke Scott is good at baseball.
  13. Who's avatar? http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f189/kctigers23/studio11.jpg is that sasha cohen? yes I'd hit it. With or without skates? Either way, or both!

  15. I think it would be worth it. BTW, got the tickets Thursday - thanks! Sometime before the games, I'll give you my cell so we can meet up. im gonna be at these games too vance, we should find a place to lounge around. We should!
  16. Well, you guys were right. We got screwed. Here's the link to the article. 19 percent of 449= 85.31 Not including any email votes, I know that signed letters totaled over 100 votes for the Cubs. So, however they are doing it, the votes do not add up. By the way, my niece is extremely happy to have here name in the paper again!

  18. I might have to look into one of those.
  19. I was spending part of the evening catching up on my reading at various sites when I came across this. It's from March 15, so I'm sure many have read it. It's great. A few highlights...
  20. They also have Yunil Escobar whom they are very high on.
  21. He was very efficient. His stuff wasn't the best, but he used it effectively.
