  1. Less than a week away and no one is talking....I'm getting nervous.
  2. The Cubs are the highest ranked NL Central team on those rankings.
  3. This is Chicago, shouldn't we be casting ballots from the cemetary as well? Thanx for that reminder. Hey Vance..... my mother just voted !!!! great!
  4. Is there a limit to the number of votes from the same email address? Just once per email. In fact, I'm pretty sure if they think the emails are dubious, they throw them out. Let's not give them any reason to throw this to the Astros. If you have multiple emails that don't look the same, by alll means vote more than once, but only once per email. If you have a friend or two that would vote for the hell of it, feel free to join the voter registration drive. I'll vote from home tonight as well then. My husband and I have different email addresses at home so can use his as well. And I'll see what I can do to get others to vote - although I live in Cardinal country - not sure who I can find who will want to help the Cubs in anything! Maybe they just don't like the Astros.... :D
  5. Be careful. With that story, you're likely to get quoted in Sunday's edition. :D

  7. Rocket should step up and take the Bengals, but I think he may be busy with the Dayton Swim Club.
  8. Only seven teams left to be chosen. I was certain Andy would have picked the Panthers by now.
  9. Here's today's article, now posted online. Link.
  10. Ok...looks like voting remains the same. Voting ends at noon Friday. It was a front page article in today's sport section, but they still haven't put it up online. I'm guessing they are trying to keep "others" from finding out. They admit that our "missing" votes would have put the Cubs ahead. The called them "hanging chads." The quoted Cubfan and Confused Reader from the story chat. They claim the sports editor didn't get the packet until Monday morning, but promise better keeping up with turned in votes this time. It's time to get busy. Cubs for Monroe 2007. Let's get busy!!!!
  11. I don't give a damn, I'm not listening to Rome. So it is Baltimore?
  12. I like Wieters; the Cubs will pick Burgess. Sooner or later one of our toolsy HS athletes will work out.
  13. Who? Baltimore, I'm thinking. That's what I thought, but it could be Buffalo.
  14. Well, we need to make sure to account for as many votes as possible. I'll keep tabs on the votes I turn in. We need to keep tabs on votes here as well. Stay tuned. I should know more in the morning.
  15. As I do. However, I still think I can gather votes. My key is playing on the apathetic.
  16. No problem. Let's wait until they announce the paramaters before sending in votes just yet. Also, if someone wants to mail one in, use the link on the first page to get a copy of the pre-printed letter.
  17. I'm armed with 100 pre-printed letters and five bags of blow pops. This election will turn the Cubs way for sure.
  18. I like Walker as much as anyone. I'm not sure he fits our needs.
  19. Once I get official word about how the run-off will proceed, we can start voting. Hold off until then. We wouldn't want votes cast too early to go un-counted.
  20. Indeed. Vance, what packet was your niece's letter in? It would be amusing if they quoted a letter they claimed they didn't count in the article about the election. My niece's letter was turned in after the packet. It was dropped off through the night mail slot on Friday morning around 6 AM. As best I know, they didn't quote anyone from the later packet. Of course, if you add those 80 to the total, we should have won outright.
