  1. I took him in the beginning of the 2nd round. The first re-do of the Draft  2nd actually, Vance tried to take a CB that had already been selected (McCauley it was, I believe). Yeah...but I caught my mistake about five minutes after making it.
  2. I'm not in any way an expert but it seems to me with the high number of transactions, promotions, demotions, etc. that go on in minor league ball its pretty difficult to get any really good idea of who will actually be there after a couple weeks into the season. I'd say it's more fun to go to the games and take note of the guys you're impressed by then look them up afterwards. That is true, but I also collect autographs and like to know who is best to go after.
  3. I'd go with Kinsler, but any of the three would be a good pick-up. I'm predicting a 20/20 season from Kinsler. He already has three of those 20 HRs.
  4. Well, we have the first three game losing streak a little over one week into the season. Will it reach four?
  5. We can keep it going. I'm not sure we'll finish all seven....hell, I might get worn out. I think the Cowboys have stockpiled seventh round picks.
  6. I see Colangelo's record as a mixed bag. For example, he had success in AZ, but basically had to be bailed out of the situation because of financial mismanagement. I wasn't entirely aware of that. I remember hearing that the Dbacks were operating in the red when Colangelo sold them, but what was the major cause of this? Just curious to know all the fact about the situation. Deferred money in contracts.
  7. Dear Cubs, Two days of suckage is not acceptable. Stop immediately. Love, Vance
  8. I went back and looked again since I had it on the DVR, and it was so blatant. A lot of times, I attribute that stuff to inconsistencies, but this looked like it was intentional.
  9. I haven't read back through this thread, but was it just my eyes or did Woody Williams have about a foot more strike zone than Lilly?
  10. I assume you mean Wells. Yep. Oops.
  11. Ok...can I add some sanity here. I'll first begin with the disclaimer that I am a DirectTV subscriber. I have nothing against cable, nor do I think DirectTV is the best thing ever. I just happen to be a DirectTV subscriber. But, everyone getting upset at DirectTV for pursuing an exclusive deal is ludicrous and assinine. I can understand angst at MLB for allowing that possibility, but being angry at DirectTV is pretty stupid. DirectTV has an obligation to its subscribers to provide the best possible programming and to itself to increase subscriber base. One way to increase subscribers is to have programming that no one else has and that people might be willing to switch to your service to get. DirectTV attempted that with EI. Now, do I understand why people who have cable wouldn't like that to happen? Certainly. But to direct that hate at DirectTV is pretty stupid. Why hate a company for practicing a smart business practice?
  12. We have just as much evidence to suggest that Rothschild has turned around Marquis as we have that Duncan has turned around Wells.
  13. No you're fine. It's not like you're celebrating it. Early speculation says bone spurs; out 4-6 weeks. Blake Hawksworth will be getting the start tues. What's the reaction over at GWRB?
  14. If we give Miller three more starts, that is bad decision. Unless he shows something in his next one, the plug on the Wade Miller experiment needs to be plugged.
  15. Miller is the reason we couldn't win this game. The offense was cold early on, but got back into it. I know Eyre's three-run inning was bad, but we were still playing catch-up then. If we have a starting pitcher who can keep things close, this offense can score. Miller put us in a six run hole. I hope to see someone else in that spot when the fifth starter's turn comes around again.
  16. I'm trying not to be reactionary based on one start (ok, may I am, but I still think I'm right), but Miller isn't going to cut it as a fifth starter. We need to stick Guzman in there until Prior is ready or find some other option. Miller's stuff wasn't fooling anyone. Maybe he'll be effective against a poor hitting team like the Cardinals, but a team with some serious bats like the Brewers are going to crush him.
  17. Try asking at http://www.newbergreport.com. I'm certain someone there will have a copy of the Rangers media guide.
  18. If this were a joke it would have said,"What do you do with an elephant with 3 balls?" You better throw a strike before you walk the sonovabitch.
