It's looking like I'm going to make this. If the wife can get off work on Thursday and Friday, then on Tuesday we'll head up toward St. Louis and stay at the in-laws. I'll get to see Cubs-Cards in St. Louis and then go audition on Friday.
My chances look better than 50-50 that the wife will agree. Now, I have to decide if I want to drive the 12.5 hours up there for the audition and then have to turn around and come back home. I might try to get her to agree to let me take my daughter a few days earlier and catch the Cubs in St. Louis before coming up... ok...hmmm.
Not even worth responding to. EDIT: Actually, I'll respond. The player is going to be someone who's not on the 40 man. So, that rules out Duke. Although, the way Duke has pitched this season... Jake, any chance we get my boy Alex in the deal?
Hendry probably still thinks there is still a potential taker for Wade in the next few weeks. He can come mow my lawn, as long as the Cubs pay for him to do so. Also, he has to sign a waiver. You know you just want him to give you a rub down.
Mine will still be watching game five in Atlanta. Now, if this year's team advances to the World Series, I think that would surpass how I felt that night in Atlanta.
