If what I'm hearing is true about the Rangers' asking price on Teixeira, the Cubs don't have the bullets to get him. Think package of Pie, Hill or Marshall, and another high-level prospect (Patterson, Veal, Gallagher). I'm not sure that would be enough in the Rangers' eyes either. Considering they have Tex for another season, I think Daniels has taken the MO of shooting for the moon and holding onto him if no one bites. He'll probably revisit trading him in the offseason and then make a final attempt at next year's deadline.
