  1. Marquis threw 21 pitches in the first. He didn't look all that good, but he got off the hook.
  2. I'm getting the Phillies broadcast....is that Harry Calas I'm hearing?
  3. http://www.baseball-almanac.com/asgbox/asg90.jpg
  4. I'm waiting for Jake's opinion on this move.....
  5. Phillies have just traded for Julio Mateo according to Jayson Stark.
  6. There's a financial side of it for Gagne. He has a games-finished clause in his contract. If he's not closing, that could be 3 million plus that he's losing if he's not the closer and Papelbon is. My guess is that Gagne will try to get the Red Sox to guarantee him an opportunity to close or guarantee a portion of the forfeited money. I think I read Ken Rosenthal say that the Sox will entice him by guarantee him all the incentives in his contract. That should help move things along then.

  8. It appears Matt Morris could be out there to be had according to Steve Phillips.
  9. I'm not concerned that he could at least do what Floyd has done out there.
  10. According to Stark, Gagne is down to either Red Sox or Brewers.
  11. As I've said numerous times, Sosa is still very good at hitting left-handed pitching. The Rangers would give him away for a PTBNL...maybe even cash considerations. It's a no-brainer. If Sosa starts to act like a prima donna, cut him loose. No harm, no foul. Make it clear to Sosa what his role is. Somehow, I think Lou would handle Sammy much better than Baker did. Furthermore, I think Sosa is wise enough to realize it's no longer his house. This would be a really good move...and is sure as hell better than kicking the tires on the likes of Silva, Payton, or Laird.
  12. I'm waiting for mlbtraderumors to provide confirmation.... or at least someone who's chatting with Len on AIM.
  13. If the Brewers are trading Bush, they either think Sheets will be back soon allowing Gallardo to go to the rotation or they think Parra is a legitimate option as a starter.
  14. My sources are saying that the Dotel to the Braves deal may not be as close as originally thought. Ok....my source happens to be this article from MLB.com. Link.
