    Uhmm...how much longer do we wait before moving along. We're never going to finish at this pace. We need the 24 hour rule.

    That's a lot of "ifs." What it boils down to is he still didn't make the pitches he needed to make. We can all play the "if" game. I don't think either team is significantly better than the other. Both have serious flaws. This division is going to come down to which team can suck the least over the last six weeks.

    The disclaimer was there all along. It also was clearly spelled out in the packet we received when we first auditioned. I was always aware that the voting would only be a part of the competition. I don't think there's a scam here at all. I have no clue what the delay is in announcing the other winners, but in all fairness to the Cubs, they did not change the rules midstream. It was always stated as such.

    After Wood's last outing, I wouldn't be surprised if he's done. His velocity was way down and his control non-existient.

    Will Bud allow the best player on "his" team to be suspended in the midst of a pennant race? Apparently, during Fielder's tirade yesterday, he bumped umpire Wally Bell. Link. Contact with an umpire usually results in a suspension, but as we know MLB isn't always consistent with its handling of such issues. So, it will be interesting to see if Fielder has to sit a couple of games or gets off with only a fine.

    A day without Cubs baseball is coming at the right time for me. With students arriving for the first day tomorrow, I need to focus on the job at hand, and not the Cubs for at least a day.

    It's definitely a frustrating game. We should have scored a bunch on Harrikala...and since we've gotten those three runs, have done absolutely nothing.
