  1. I don't like the Atlanta dates at all. That's a mid-week series right after I start back to work. I usually make a trip to Atlanta, but that makes it highly unlikely.
  2. I chose moderate, but at times it's likely higher. I'm usually able to get done what I need to get done, but I might be better at my job if I didn't spend so much time doing this.
  3. I believe Shawon Dunston was the last one. I refuse to even acknowledge the possibility that Trachsel will be back. Even Hendry can't be that dumb, even if he's under the influence of something. I keep telling myself that as well, but this article has created irrational levels of fear about the 2008 season.
  4. Stone as GM.... "Heeeeellllllllll Naw!"
  5. I'm still holding out hope that Rosenthal is wrong, but expect me to go off in epic proportions if Hendry actually is idiotic enough to pick up Traschel's option. Traschel is trash and should be dimissed immediately.
  6. I didn't see you, but I recall Fred saying he gave you a lift.
  7. Does this mean we'll receive every dollar we paid for the tickets? That's what I take it to mean... it looks like everything minus the shipping. it just pisses me off because now I have to track down a ticket I sold on Ebay. it's a little ridiculous. I'm assuming the person you sold it to on Ebay wants a refund as well. Tell them they'll get theirs when you get the ticket back. I was dumb enough to give them the refund already. :l33t: The lady was extremely nice, so I don't think it's going to be a problem. It's just ridiculous that the Cubs are looking to make money on a game not played, hoping that people don't turn their tickets back in so they don't have to give a refund. Yeah. I'm not sure why they need the tickets to issue refunds either.

  9. I'll try to assemble the prize packages and have that up by the weekend so the winners can select. This week at work took a turn for the worst, so things are a bit hectic right now.
  10. Find an old copy of The Hidden Game of Baseball and read it. That's what got me to begin thinking along these lines many years ago.
  11. And will Torre retire or could he return to the Cardinals as manager?
  12. His well thought out reply...I love this argument, BTW, because it requires no factual support at all when it's used. At least, he replied. I'll give him that much. Holy Crap! His reply is more ridiculous than his column, as difficult as it is to accomplish such a feat.
  13. My guess is Girardi will be the next manager of the Yankees....unless they can find a way to raise Billy Martin from the grave.
  14. I'm just pissed that I didn't have the same foresight as Aramis.
  15. Well, I made it home safe and sound. Thanks for the fun, guys. While the game sucked, hanging out with everyone was a blast!
  16. I think my lack of interest in this week was mainly a result of the nausea and exhaustion brought about as a result of my Saturday late night activities.
  17. So, Harvey really hasn't learned anything about how to take a pitch.
  18. One of my big concerns with Jones is that even when he's good, he's a low BA, average OBP guy. His slugging is usually good and we could use another power bat, but he's a lot like hitters that we have. I also wonder exactly how much money he's going to command. I'm not convinced that his one horrible year will deflate his value enough to compensate for the risk in signing him.
  19. I'm not sure we should have won is accurate. We were an inconsistent 85 win team in a bad division. Arizona was a 90 win team in a good division. I know the pythags pointed toward us, but we weren't a great team. We were a slightly above average team prone to streaks and slumps. The euphoria of the week or so leading into the playoffs surely had gotten my hopes up, but really no one should have thought the Cubs should have won anything this year. We weren't that good. The 2003 team was a much better team and a team that should have won. That one stung...big time. This one I'm more pissed about because I was able to fly all the way to Chicago to see it unravel, but in reality there was much much more pain here than 2003.
  20. Why? did Soriano and Ramirez tell him when they signed their massive contracts that they only planned on trying through September, and then theyd half ass their way through the next 3 games? He put together a playoff team. Nothing he did caused this collapse. 85 wins in a terrible division. it's not a collapse, it's a natural conclusion. Bingo!
  21. Where is my Cowboys option?
  22. Did they just assume Lou Merloni would have to have a job somewhere and then threw him at the Cubs. Any site that even bothers to include Merloni on a list loses most if not all credibility.
  23. Unable ?? or unwilling to pay the price ?? the latter or maybe after my bar tab yesterday, unable to pay the price.
