    Well, anyone who wants to meet up either May 10 or 11th, let me know. I'll keep a list and then we can decide how to procede with tickets.

    I'm just bumping this so maybe we can get someone for each team by the time of the combine. Post if you want one of the available teams or want to be in the war room with a team already taken.

    Call it a hunch, but I bet we end up sending Gallagher, Marmol, and a prospect that doesn't have to be put on the 40-man.

    Whether it works for anyone else, I'm going to be there the weekend of May 10th-11th. If anyone wants to meet in the bleachers for either of those games, I'm up for it.

    I've been making solo trips to Chicago for the past couple of years, and I always have a blast. I've met people from the board here at games and we usually have as good a time doing that as I would if I had made the trip with a bunch of friends from home. I'll be doing it again this year, and I've already made plans with some of the people.

    Drew Macias might be a player we could get for Murton as well. On the other hand, I don't see much different between Macias and Fuld. I don't think Jim will trade Murton to SD until he's sure he won't need to package him to get another player he wants. On the other hand, with the Cubs interest in Byrd, I wonder if the Rangers would do some variation of this deal... Cubs get Byrd Padres get Murton Rangers get Stauffer

    Somehow, I don't think we'll get Greene in a deal that involves Murton. First, I don't think SD values Murton enough to do that deal, and secondly I don't think Jim is looking for an upgrade at SS. (Yes, we can debate whether he should, I just don't think he is or will.) One name that I find intriguing is Tim Stauffer. Now, I'll admit that he hasn't done much in recent years. His two starts for the Padres last season were disaterous and his ERA for Portland in the PCL is meh to downright atrocious. I do know that at one time, he was highly regarded. Getting Stauffer would add another arm to our mix. Now I'm sure the case can be made that keeping Murton is more desireable than getting a player like Stauffer. On the other hand, it appears that Murton is going one way or the other, and a player like Stauffer would be better than some of the other roster filler we could end up with.

    What I'm afraid of is that while we're all hoping for a Murton for Greene package, we'll only end up with Oscar Robles.

    I'll be there with my wife and spawn for one of the games. We're going to vacation in San Diego and then drive up for a Dodgers game at the end of the vacation.

    The limit is usually six tickets per game over the first weekend they go on sale. So, if you need 20 bleacher seats, you're going to need some others to help you out.

    As someone who likes to stay in a hotel within walking distance, I like the idea. On the other hand, I fairly certain that this hotel would be out of my price range...so down with the idea!

    I went with the cookie-cutter ballparks. I'm not a big fan of the coporate naming, but it doesn't affect my experience at the ballpark at all. The cookie-cutter, multi-purpose parks sometimes created a sterile feel to the park and in some cases affected the experience.

    Link. It includes some speculation as to what players will be with the Smokies. I'm not sure how accurate these projections will be.     I'd like to start right after the combine. Some might want to wait to see what happens there before making picks. I hope that it won't take as long as last year.

    I'm trying to decide whether to take off or not. If I take-off, I'll have more time, but in the past the computers at school have been more successful than the ones at home. But I teach in a different room (without a computer) beginning at 11:15, so my time to work the computers would be limited to the first hour if I go to work.
