  1. Yeah. I plan on drinking after getting to town on Friday night, so this will allow me a little more recovery time before I head out to get in line so we can nab some seats on da front row!
  2. I still think the Raiders draft McFadden. I don't think Al Davis can resist.
  3. ...that's kind of odd. I don't like the two round gap in the draft for the Dolphins...and I'm not crazy about getting yet another old DT. but a fourth for two potential starters isn't bad value. Akin is a LB. Fasano is a TE.
  4. If what you saw were his first three outings, I can see where you got that from. However, in his last two starts he was back to his usual self. I think it had something to do with his release point.
  5. When it's all said and done, I think the bullpen will be fine.
  6. PFT is reporting Shockey to the Saints for multiple picks is done...but PFT is not a very reliable source...so it's probably not true.
  7. The red hot offense is now going cold. We're still getting people on base, we just haven't scored enough runs. We've had chances, we just didn't cash in tonight. I'm as pissed as anyone about tonight's loss, especially because its our second in a row. But we're still 6 out of our last 8. If we can bounce back tomorrow all will be ok. Just no losing streaks!
  8. Well, at least with a Saturday night game I won't have to be blacked out on EI.
  9. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!
  10. Howry in the game just in time to make sure we won't have extra innings.
  11. The Cowboys traded Akin Ayodele and Anthony Fasano to the Dolphins for a the Dolphins fourth round pick.
  12. While we need burn up our entire bench, if this one goes extras those pitching changes ate up a good part of the Nationals' pen.
  13. Relievers who enter the game and can't throw strikes remind me so much of Will Ohman.
  14. Pinghitter sent me his pick for the Chiefs.
  15. Do they hand out ballots at Wrigley? I thought I remember hearing that they haven't done that in the past few years, and if that's the case, that's likely a big reason why because they do it at other stadiums. I think fans at Wrigley aren't given the ballots quite as profusely as they are in other venues. I know when I was in Houston during the voting, they had a big thing on the jumbotron and then at one point in the game passed ballots out and then later collected them. Those pushes in other parks probably are what causes this.
  16. I don't think we have any minor league catchers that excite me as options. But picking up a veteran back-up isn't that hard. Those guys usually bounce around the league quite a bit. If your starting catcher is good enough so that you don't want to bench him freely, back-up catcher isn't a position that you have to worry about too much.
  17. That's why it's good to be winning now. We have a little cushion to soften the blow if we have a rough patch.
  18. And the Cubs had a good record in Dusty's first year; that's something the Reds won't achieve this season. Is Corey Patterson still leading off?
  19. Seriously. Ryan Theriot hit a single yesterday. I want you to find me a quote from anyone that says that Ryan Theriot will never hit a single. I'll wait. Take all the time you need. Oh? Nobody has said that? Okay then. The argument against Ryan Theriot is not that he will never, ever do anything, and will hit .000/.000/.000 with zero putouts and zero assists. The argument is that over the course of a full season, Ryan Theriot is unlikely to be especially productive at shortstop - his median forecast is basically right at replacement level, and his high-end forecast still falls short of league average production from his position. He will occasionally have good days, sure - I'm sure I can find some game-winning hits from Neifi Perez if I go back and check the play-by-play records. But over time, the likelihood is that the bad days will outnumber the good. That said. If for whatever reason you will only be satisfied with Ryan Theriot's detractors if we say bad things about him even on the good days - I am there. I am so there. If that's really all that you need to... well, I have no idea why this seems to bother you, but if it does, I will go ahead and provide that valuable service to you. So far as I am capable, I will go ahead and find a way to communicate to you, personally, Ryan Theriot's worth as a starting shortstop - in game threads, in postgame discussions... any time, any place. You're welcome in advance. I think I am in love with this post! Welcome to the boards.
  20. No more than four. Feel free to begin discussing each team.
  21. A healthy Oswalt would be nice to have. I'm pretty sure it would cost Gallagher, Marshall, and one other pitcher.
  22. Replacing Blanco with Laird would be an upgrade as long as he doesn't cut into Geo's playing time.
  23. After reading this, I like the Pacman deal even more.
  24. Dissapointing loss, but aftewer a six game winning streak, I can't complain. Let's get back to winning tomorrow in DC.
