  1. I say we're into speed round territory. Let's give everyone a couple of hours and then move along.
  2. I anticipate this one to end in a landslide.
  3. Looks like the four-run barrier is the key on both hitting and pitching.
  4. with Dusty at the helm, they may take underachievement to epic levels.
  5. I can understand pulling Hill and maybe Wuertz. I would have left Marshall in longer rather than going to Lieber then.
  6. Looking at the Cubs schedule that year is just so depressing. I remember that year really well. Incredible start and it looked like the Cubs were going to steamroll through the season. Then one pitcher went on the DL. Then another. And another. And another. Then the entire starting rotation was on the DL at the same time. tough to manage through that. I remember that year too. I really thought the Cubs were going to win back-to-back division titles until the bottom dropped out. The pitching situation seemed similar to 2006, with one major difference. In 2006 the Cubs had legitimate pitching prospects that were called up earlier than they otherwise would have been, but I think that experience helped some of them (such as Marmol and Marshall) last year. In 1985, however, they were starting AA-quality pitchers who never pitched in the majors after that year (anybody remember the legendary Steve Engel, Johnny Abrego, and Derek Botelho?). Derek Botelho is now the pitching coach for the Mississippi Braves. I'll tell him you send your best.
  7. The Cowboys entered the draft with three key needs. Having addressed WR and CB with the picks in the first round, the Cowboys look at RB. Marion Barber III is a punishing runner, but he needs a complement. With Felix Jones off the board, the Cowboys select Jamaal Charles, RB UT.
  8. And just to reiterate an earlier point, the Reds are just as bad as the Pirates. The Reds may have more potential and young talent, but right now those teams are fairly equal when it comes to being bad.
  9. He has a really cool job with french benefits.
  10. I would pay to watch Dusty and Lou play chess. I don't think I could handle all the screaming and fishing analogies.
  11. I hope Marmol can K the side, because I have no faith in the defense we'll put out there.
  12. I hate having to count on Theriot to keep this going. :x
  13. To extra innings....I have a feeling we're going to regret not having Lee in this game.
