I'm one of the people who hated the Edmonds signing, as anyone who saw my post that lasted maybe thirty seconds knows. My reasons for hating the signing were two-fold: first, I've never liked Edmonds; second, I thought he was going to completely suck. I didn't want to have to watch a player I hate suck for my team. Therefore, I hated the signing with every ounce of my being. Now that he's productive, I like him just like I like all Cubs. He doesn't suck, so I can forgive all the other things about him. I still will make my sarcastic, tongue-in-cheek jabs at him, but I've not only grown to accept him, I will root for him. My opposition was rooted in both my feelings that he would suck and my dislike for Edmonds the ballplayer. Now, that he hasn't sucked and has actually contributed to some Cubs' wins, I can overlook my dislike for Edmonds the ballplayer.
