  1. I thought about watching the game. I tuned in about 15 minutes ago, saw the line-up, and figured watching something on Lifetime would be better than watching this game.
  2. Oops. I already put in three claims.
  3. Why isn't, "who cares" an option?
  4. It's good to get the win, but please everyone. Do not get your hopes up. We know how this team is.
  5. Have I missed anything while watching the Cowboys instead of the Cubs? On the neagtive side, I've had to endure the pontificating of Joe Buck.
  6. Who's in CF? I'd probably use Hairston, Patterson, or another stop gap player like Lofton until Pie is ready to contribute. Stop bringing up Lofton! :x But I'd rather go with Cedeno at SS if Nomar moves to LF and get Giles to play CF. The OF defense would suck, but who cares? And I think you posted this in the wrong thread. I'm not one to think that Lofton was the key to our offense in 2003. I just know that we could use a stop gap while waiting on Pie. It doesn't have to be Lofton, but I wouldn't rule him out either. Hairston might be a decent option there.
  7. Who's in CF? I'd probably use Hairston, Patterson, or another stop gap player like Lofton until Pie is ready to contribute.
  8. How good could our team be if we signed Furcal for short, kept Walker at second, and convinced Nomar to move to left. What would this line-up look like? Furcal SS Walker 2b Lee 1b Ramirez 3b Nomar LF Barrett C Murton RF That doesn't look like a bad line-up to me.
  9. Maybe I should pick up some of his good players in case he advances... :-k
  10. I'll be watching the Cowboys game while this one is on. Go Cubs. (like it matters.)
  11. Len, How about an off the wall question. What's your favorite sandwich? Have you ever had a bacon turkey bravo? They're delicious!
  12. I really shouldn't comment. My feelings on Dummy Baker are well known. These articles just add more fuel to the fire.
  13. does that make sense? In the context I used it, yes. Maybe I should not be so concise next time and instead say, the older parts of the city that is New Orleans has suffered relatively light damage considering the carnage that has been shown on the television. By Old New Orleans, I meant the areas that were originally settled, primarily the Vieux Carre and Garden District areas that are nestled against the Mississippi River.
  14. He likes him A LOT. He already said that in the other chat, dude. Len, good to see you again, have you followed the Marlins much this year at all? Who is your pick for NL Cy Young, Clemens, Carp or Willis? I know. Just trying to get the info out to the good people here. ;)
  15. Thanks for stopping by, Len. 1. How about a football question: Who's your pick to win the Superbowl? 2. Secondly, what are your thoughts on Adam Dunn? 3. Did you play sports in high school? At one point did you decide to be a broadcaster?
  16. If Nomar comes cheap enough, I'd keep him at SS, Walker at 2B and Cedeno as the back-up. Nomar also serves as Ramirez insurance with Cedeno stepping in at short when needed. If we sign Giles for right and play Murton in left, I think we'd be ok.
  17. Whhhaaaatttt???? But Vance, I thought you were against Carpenter? Uh, I mean, he is a Cardinal..... I know you're teasing, but I've always said I hate the Astros and Cardinals equally. Don't worry. Once Hendry gets us Johan next year, he'll win the Cy over any Card or Astro. :wtg: I figure Vlad or Arod will get the MVP for us too.
  18. wow...Bruce in the game threads. And Bruce, has Dusty freaking lost his mind?
  19. Great interview. Thanks, DJaxx.
  20. Whhhaaaatttt???? But Vance, I thought you were against Carpenter? Uh, I mean, he is a Cardinal..... I know you're teasing, but I've always said I hate the Astros and Cardinals equally.
  21. You really have some high hopes don't you?
  22. Clemens ERA rose to 1.78 and Carpenter is at 2.21. While Clemens still has the advantage there, he looked bad last night. I haven't checked the other metrics, but I'm about to slide this one over to Carpenter. There's a few more starts to go, but right now I've swung over to Carpenter.
