  1. Cherry had a 5.55 ERA in Iowa for crying out loud. Why is he even on the big league team?
  2. 2 Hits vs. Arroyo? What happened to the Cubs offense?
  3. Robert was never on for today....Saturday is his day...today is Wood & Papelbon...Sunday is PIna... Was Wood in the mid 90's again today?
  4. Thats because Kendall leaned into it, and our announcers aren't huge homers like the Sox ones. Well yeah, I knew why he did it... Not real sure why Kendall did that though...we needed the RBI. Because he realizes he sucks and can't get any rbi's? Yeah he used up his two hits for the week yesterday. As long as Kendall continues to get on base I'm not going to complain. At least he turned the order over. But there was a runner on third and he was realistically the best chance to drive him home. Even as bad as he is, hes still much more likely to get the runner home than Rich Hill. If he had made an out we would have been complaining about how bad he is as a hitter. Its a vicious circle.

  6. You beat my post. There goes one trade target.
  7. Apparently, Lofton will be traded to the Indians today for a minor league catcher. If so, there goes one of the Cubs potential trade targets. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/
  8. We are in a pennant race, so playing through slumps is out the door this year. You either produce or you don't play. As has been said before, if you bench a guy in a slump, you're not going to get the hot streak that will come in the future. I'm still waiting for Kendall hot streak. Or was that last night? What, two soft singles didn't do it for ya? One was a soft double. Isn't that Kendall's game though? As long as he gets on base, I could care less how he does it.
  9. Sunday when I saw him in Iowa, he looked much more relaxed in RF. He was getting good jumps, covering quite a bit of ground and made some tough plays that looked like extra bases of the bat. He should be an upgrade over Floyd defensively.
  10. Ok, it's hard for me to believe that's a coincidence. Did they collide into each other in the OF?
  11. Could be a trade, too. Yeah I though of this as well. Salty coming to Chicago? Willis coming to Chicago? Texeria coming to Chicago? I hope they get a good return for him in any trade.
  12. I just can't see the Braves being overly enthusiastic about trading a good player to one of their main competitors for the wild card.
  13. :ast night I actually thought that they were tolerable. I guess I expect the other team's announcers to be somewhat homers. At least they don't take it over the line like, Hawk and DJ.
  14. Since when did Kip Wells start pitching so well?
  15. How are things working out for him in San Diego? It looks like he is still battling his temper. Any complaints from the pitching staff yet?
  16. Not to derail the thread, but Grudz produced very well during his time with the Cubs. Hindsight being 20/20 there is no way that any sane person would argue Hill would have been a better option. And to say that Dubois was a better option than Hollandsworth is like saying that Neifi was a better option than Macias. They both sucked.
  17. Oh, the good times. You nailed it. =D> This is the same type of story that comes out every year prior to the trade deadline.
  18. I'm not buying it until Reds44 states that a trade is eminent.
  19. It would definitely be nice if the Barrett trade turned into something worthwhile. Isn't that a pretty drastic turn around on his K ratio. Are the Cubs teaching patience in the minors again.
  20. I saw Ronnie in Iowa today and he looked outstanding defensively.
  21. I have friends on here. Well, keep posting. Maybe you'll have some scoops on some upcoming trades.
  22. I take it Reds44 is a Reds fan correct? Any reason he hangs out on this Cubs board so much and reports so many trades or (rumors)? Not complaining, just seems odd. I have to give him credit for the Jones almost-trade, he had that one pegged pretty early.
  23. Nice. :D Can you sing? Or do you have a good gimmick?
  24. Arggh! No offense to the rest of the pitching staff in Iowa, but it would have been nice to see a future Cubs pitcher. Do you know whether Sean will be with the team in Iowa on Sunday?
