    Nice trade for the Red Sox. I thought the trade deadline was tomorrow. There are alot of deals going down today.

    Agreed, I just looked up Laird's numbers and they are pretty bad. I would rather take my chances with Kendall and Blanco than waste the Cubs top prospect on those guys. Has Pie's value tanked that bad, that his name is being brought up in trades for bit players?

    I thought the plan was understood for him to start against all lefties and the occasional righty? what we've seen so far really doesn't go against that. He was in the lineup yesterday, but was a late scratch and Bruce said he was supposed to get the start today because Lou would rather give Floyd the day off with the afternoon game after a night game. hmmm... hadn't heard that entire story yet. thanks for the fill-in. i still believe Lou knows what he's doing (or he at least is doing what he's doing on purpose, for whatever reason). But yes, it seems strange. Could Bruce expand on what he's said so far? Obviously, he can't/won't say they're trying to trade him, but for example, what has Lou said about his lineups the last couple days? Do Lou and Murton not see eye to eye?

    Not necessarily. There are trade rumors, but there have been many false rumors as well as true rumors that fell through at the last minute (such as Jones to Florida). This site will go nuts if the Gallagher doesn't start today. Judging by Lou's comments in the paper today, it appears Gallagher will be called up pretty soon to pitch in the pen.

    If the Cubs trade Murton they had better get a good return for him, and not somebody like Payton or Wigginton. I'm by no means a Murton Fan Club member, but he put up pretty good numbers in his first full year in the majors and he is fairly cheap on the payroll for a few years.

    I don't buy into the Payton talk. Hendry has made some dumb moves, but why would he trade anything to take on a 4th OF that is going to make $5MM next year? Even Hendry is not that stupid.

    Ugh. That's no good. Not getting traded.. Ugh. So Lou puts Murton in the lineup and then at the last minute figures out that tomorrow is an afternoon game and then puts Floyd in??

    Good. Murton is worth more than Ty, much more. Why would Tampa want Dan Wheeler? Are they in the playoff chase? The opposite is true too. Why does Houston want Wigginton? Yeah didn't even consider that. #-o There are some strange deals going on this year.

    Hasn't Kendall actually started to hit lately? After Lou stated he was going to use both catchers equally, Kendall has started 3 straight games and got on base fairly frequently.

    Shark had 6 K's in 4.2 innings.... to bad he gave up 12 hits and 6ER's to go along with it.
