Winston, of course, is the player who was reinstated this season after spending 180 days in jail this past summer for a assault and battery charge. He was involved in a fight last year in which a MSU hockey player was seriously injured. Sounds like Dantonio made a good decision bringing him back on the team. How do you really judge those things though? It looks bad because he had another issue. If he would have not gotten in trouble again and got his degree Dantonio would be applauded for giving him a 2nd chance. This story is basically the same scenario that happened last October. 3 cars filled with MSU players show up at a house. The players file out of the cars and basically start beating on people. The hockey player (A.J. Sturges) was asleep, hears the commotion, and comes outside. Winston sucker punches him and puts him in the hospital with a fractured skull and bleeding on his brain. He had to miss the rest of the hockey season. Winston spent 180 days in prison because of it. Is this really someone who should get a second chance? Also, it's more about the fact that this is the 2nd time in 2 years that this exact incident has happened involving MSU football players.
