  1. There's a good chance the Phils score 20 this inning.
  2. he hasnt hit a HR in over 60 AB's That's okay. Braun has more than picked up the slack.
  3. That was a spectacular inning. These guys have a great approach at the plate. Nothing like just going up there and hacking at everything you see.
  4. Marquis already with 63 pitches through 3 innings.
  5. There is a 0% chance of this happening with Church basically making the minimum salary. It's bad reporting on Levine's part.
  6. So Kendall isn't good at offense or defense. Why is he on this team?
  7. Having absolutely no offense from CF and C is going to catch up with us pretty soon.
  8. Jones has been on fire vs. right handed pitching, and floyd will hurt himself again soon. The only one on that list that really is maddening is Kendall. Especially with Soto tearing it up. A .696 OPS since the All Star Break is on fire now? I understand hes been better, but it would have been really hard to play worse He has a .649 OPS against RH pitchers this season. Again, not really on fire. He's had a decent 2-week stretch, but he still was putting up a sub .800 OPS during that time period.
  9. Ugh. The thought of more Jones, Floyd, and Kendall in the lineup the rest of the year is maddening.
  10. The West isn't balanced with 4 good teams. 3/4 of the West represent 3/5 of the worst offenses in the NL. And because those offenses are so bad, and the ballparks are generally pitching friendly, all the teams in the West have inflated pitching numbers. They may be balanced, but they aren't good. It's a wonder to me that the West isn't the same as it was a few years back, all under .500 records. Both the Cubs and the Brewers are better than all teams in the West, except perhaps the Dodgers (though with the injuries they are racking up, they probably are worse now). You realize that the Diamondbacks and Padres both have a better record than the Cubs, right?
  11. What does this mean? Please, if you want to debate and be taken heard, use more than one-liners to support your points. I've been watching and reading your posts for a while now and controversy surrounds you in large part because you do not adequately support your contentions. Sure he does. Just ask Lou or Muskat.
  12. in one statistic (albeit an important one) How 'bout 6 of 14 in BA okay so now we're delving into the unimportant statistics. Shall we head along to stolen bases? I already did, in terms of unimportant, Henderson waves hello Did you just compare the Riot to Rickey Henderson?
  13. That was a pretty lame trading deadline, by the way.
  14. It's a $13 million dollar team option for 2008, which will be about 1/6th of their payroll.
  15. Teams like Cincy and Washington drive me nuts. They both are terrible organizations and instead of unloading players that could net them some good prospects they sit on their hands and do nothing. I'm upset that it seems Hendry didn't get anything done, but I'd be furious if I were a fan of one of these teams.
  16. He's a productive CF who's making only $400,000 this year. There's no way he makes it through waivers to us.
  17. Levine on ESPN 1000: No trades for the cubs.
  18. When did he say that? http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070730&content_id=2119176&vkey=news_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc 12 am this morning? Why are you posting this now?
