  1. Anyone else hoping Tebow gets killed tonight?
  2. Ouch. That looked painful.
  3. Let's just hope he doesn't make an error in RF while Z is pitching. That could be a disaster.
  4. Love that they're playing all his highlights where he goes insane.
  5. Probably a marginal upgrade over Torres, but they needed to make a move to help them in their bullpen. It really doesn't matter who they have closing though if they don't add another starter they won't be competing this year. What is the Brewer's starting rotation this year? Can't be good at all. Parra and who?
  6. They won. That's all that matters. :)
  7. Why can't we have the Red Sox front office running the Cubs. Good moves.
  8. Harold Baines? Scott Podsednik? It's all starting to make sense. You're a White Sox fan who is just having fun messing with us Cubs' fans.
  9. 129th all time in RBI!! 50th in DOUBLES!!! 245th IN RUNS SCORED 395th in Batting average. Enshrine Buckner! I didn't say he was HOF worthy, but those are pretty damn good career numbers. Anyone who knows anything about baseball would agree. Those numbers are over 22 seasons which is not a usual career. If you average those numbers over a 162 game season, they don't look all that great. Not terrible, but not great either.
  10. It'd be great if you tried to prove your theory by comparing Pods to actual good players. Buckner was not one of them.
  11. They didn't win because of him. They won because of their pitching. I'm sorry, but a .700 OPS from an outfielder (or anyone for that matter) is just not good. You cannot argue that he is a good player. He's not.
  12. Well, they got a ring out of it. Worked out pretty well for them in '05. Pods was also pretty damn clutch in the postseason, if you'll recall. That ring might have had something to do with their fantastic pitching. That Pods-led offense was pretty mediocre, even in the postseason. The pitching was fantastic. No argument there. But mediocre? Really? In 12 games (49 ABs), he hit .286 with a .375 OBP and a .551 SLG, had 2 HRs (1 was a walkoff in the World Series btw), 1 double, 3 triples, 6 SB, 6 RBIs, and scored 9 runs. Maybe he should've tried harder during the regular season. He finished 12th in MVP voting. They won their first World Series in 88 years. Sounds like you're complaining for the sake of complaining. 2005 was Pods best year and he posted a .700 OPS. Just fantastic from a corner outfielder.
  13. Chemistry and clutchness are keys to winning World Series.
  14. Redding or Looper? Might as well just kept Marquis.
  15. Sean Gallagher is a table scrap? Considering what you usually have to give up to get an ace caliber pitcher via trade, yes. You mean considering what you have to give up to get an ace caliber pitcher who is constantly hurt. It's notl ike we traded for Sabathia. Anyways, it doesn't matter. The player you're trading for doesn't change what a player is. Gallagher is a not a "table scrap" in any situation. Just to be clea,r I liked the trade. I'm just saying Gallagher is not a table scrap. So you're just arguing for the sake of arguing. I like Gallagher, too, but the fact of the matter is that he didn't have a future with the Cubs so by giving him up we didn't give up any value. He was, for all intents and purposes, one of three spare parts we gave up for an outstanding young pitcher. With all due respect to his Dad or whatever, I reiterate, table scraps. You shouldn't worry. Everyone with a IQ higher than a argumentative 6th grader looking for attention understood what you meant. There is no need for this. If you disagree with a certain poster then put him/her on ignore. Do not attack other posters.
  16. At least five members have been incredibly rude to me from the get-go. I'm issued a warning for fighting fire with fire. It's beyond ridiculous. Guess if you're not in a clique or a longstanding member, you're not allowed to defend yourself. I didn't even realize I was in a clique. I just laughed at your strange opinions. The "Clique" begins with IMB!, Meph, Derwood, and Truffle...what, you didn't get the memo from them? That Jersey guys is the biggest prick though, watch out for him. Though he is not as bad as that goony guy was. that is the weirdest idea of a clique ever. one of those people is on my ignore list. You have yourself on ignore?

  19. I don't think anyone is refuting the fact that the Big Ten is down. We've been pathetic for a couple years now.
  20. Haha. OSU loses another bowl game.
  21. The best-case scenario would have been a bomb landing on the stadium. I dislike both them schools.
  22. Wow. Number 77 is the definition of red neck.
  23. I love seeing Buckeye fans looking like they're going to cry.
  24. haha. nice defense.
