    This PSU coaching search is taking far too long, no matter what. The recruiting class was already going to take a hit because of this scandal, but they aren't going to have any players if this continues on for much longer.

    I understand. He came to storied Michigan program to join a team that was 3 points away from a National Championship game and then went 3-9, 5-7 and 7-5 (with a 38 point bowl loss). He was part of the worst class in Michigan history. To turn it around like that and beat OSU, get to a BCS game, win it, and win the MVP pretty much makes it all worthwhile for him. That's not even including all the coaching changes he had to endure. Very cool that all the seniors get to go out with a Sugar Bowl victory and an 11-win season. Those guys had to go through a lot of [expletive].

    Saban is looked at like the devil because he's jumped from program to program, not because he allowed an assistant coach to use the facilities to recruit rape victims. The public perception problems at PSU aren't going to be fixed by hiring some no name guy who will always toe the line. I don't see how these things are related. That's a good point. He's probably looked at as a devil in LSU (maybe) and Miami, but I don't think the majority of American cfb fans gives a [expletive] about Saban's career choices. He's the king of over-signing and there have been numerous kids coming out talking about how they were forced into medical hardships to open up scholarships for better players. He's a sleaze ball. I would hope any Big Ten/Pac 12/ND university would stay far away from a coach like him. I don't agree that his reputation is widely tarnished among most cfb fans. But this is all beside the point that truffle thinks PSU is too good to hire him. Truffle didn't say anything about PSU being too good to hire him. Truffle said PSU shouldn't hire a guy with a tarnished reputation when they're dealing with their own tarnished reputation.

    Putting several words in bold isn't an explanation. Come on, man. You know what he's trying to say. PSU is going through a major scandal and hiring a coach like Nick Saban, who's looked at like the devil by everyone except Alabama fans, is probably not a good idea for PSU right now.
