  1. Pretty cool. It definitely speaks at least as much of this lineup as it does of DeRo, but he's one of my favorites, so :good: <3 DeRo
  2. Marquis threw 93 pitches 3 days ago, that's odd. I wish we could DFA Howry and bring up Lieber to back him up Don't starters normally have a throw day in between starts? That's probably all this would be for him, and pushing him back to Friday is also allows for him to not get into the game tonight, take his throw day tomorrow, and still get rest. I don't think it sounds like too much of a stretch. Also, I'm not big on Ward starting, but between the lefties crushing this guy and Lee's last three months, it seems like as good a time as any for a day off. Not bad moves by Lou.
  3. Wow, so then 25-15 for 100 wins... that's very possible. The Cubs' current win pct is .615, which, when applied to the 40 games remaining, has them on pace to win 24.6 of them. I prefer to round to the closest whole number. At the end of play on August 15th, 2008, the Chicago Cubs are on pace to win 100 games... :pig: :pig: :pig:
  4. I still hate the Marlins and think they are a worthless franchise, and I hate to see the Cubs play them, especially in Miami. I think Edmonds and Kosuke get starts this game, Kosuke finds a gap for extras and drives in a run with extra bases in one of his two hits, Marshall will unsuccessfully attempt a sac bunt, but it won't matter because Sori clears the bases on the following pitch. Marshall has a few control issues and his pitch count climbs faster than we'd like, but the only pitch he hangs to Hermida comes with no one on base, and he gets out of six only giving up two runs. Cubs back him with 7, Cotts falters out of the pen but nothing major, Cubs cruise to a 7-4 victory. Either that or an earthquake on a previously-unknown florida fault line erupts and opens up a hole at Joe Robbie stadium and swallows the Cubs dugout and all the players whole, but only after they give up 13 runs in the bottom of the first. You heard it here first.
  5. In the gameday audio archive, 3:25:08 is where the crack of the bat is, but it's worth it to start from 3:24:30 and listen to him introduce the AB and build up to the pitch.
  6. The video is already on cubs.com, but I haven't been able to pull up video highlights all season, either on firefox or IE, and it seriously pisses me off. I really wanted to see Sori's blast from last night, and i MUST see this.
  7. The Braves offense was able to get back into the game last night, but their pitchers couldn't keep the Cubs scoreless for more than an inning at a time.
  8. Cubs have done well without a key player or two, but if Z doesn't get his act straight, this team is an early October exit at best.
  9. That mustache just got a whole lot sexier.
  10. Ankiel jumps back ahead of every Cub in homers with that, his 23rd And to think, I have a cloth Cards diaper with his sig on it. Do I sell it or wait until he is 38 and signs with us? No this is what you do. You poop in it. THen you set it on Rick's doorstep. Then you set it on fire. Then you ring the doorbell. You called the ish poop!
  11. Every time the Marlins come to Wrigley, we get a Bartman replay. I say it's about time to mark the Cubs' trip to FL with a replay of the Ramirez salami from game 4.
  12. 1. Luis Castillo 2. Derrek Lee 3. Mike Lowell :x
  13. I really really hate the Marlins, and I hate when the Cubs play them. I'm down to see the Cubs outscore them by 20 this series.
  14. Very well done. I like including the catch at the foot of the hill in Houston too. What a sweet play.
  15. The way Lilly and Howry pitched, the scary moment with Ramirez at the plate, the Braves always answering our runs with runs of their own, Kotsay hits for the cycle and goes 5 for 5, the HBP with benches clearing, and the Cubs win, nobody was ejected, and Ramirez is day-to-day. I'll take it.
  16. CUBS WIN!! CUBS WIN!! \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ WOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
  17. If she's worth her salt, she'd understand if you had to settle for watching the video of the delivery later that night.
  18. Tomahawk chop attempts to drown out the let's go cubbies chant. Didn't really work.
  19. I can understand brooms, but that's ridiculous. Oh well, on your feet everyone!!
  20. How many pitches did Marmol throw to record those last four outs?
  21. He had better not be on the playoff roster, even. Anyone in the minors we can call up to replace him if he gets DFA'ed? Hart. Piggy. Anyone with two arms. As long as those guys have the necessary arm, I'd rather see them go Jim Abbott than see Howry on the roster.
  22. I love being able to count on Marmol again.
  23. Yea, if Ramirez just ends up taking a few days off, that's not bad at all, except that he has been heating up lately.
