  1. Probably just a tad presumptuous. And under-researched. Note to self: google first, then post.
  2. This was the largest secular event in human history.
  3. This blew my freaking mind. Largest human gathering ever in the U.S., seventh largest in recorded human history. http://www.fox32chicago.com/news/local/215601786-story
  4. Can anyone post a link to that awesome Cubs montage that aired today? Or to favorite clips of the rally?
  5. Finally have to head back to work and get back into the real world (where I will spend the majority of my time talking about baseball). Please share as much parade awesomeness as possible.
  6. The starting lineup of the first Cubs game I ever went to. From June 15, 1974... Don Kessinger Jerry Morales Billy Williams Jose Cardenal Rick Monday Bill Madlock Dave Rosello Steve Swisher Steve Stone I think this could be a really fun exercise for all of us... The starting lineup of my first game at Wrigley...August 11, 1992 vs the Montreal Expos...went 17 innings. Doug Dascenzo Ryne Sandberg Mark Grace Andre Dawson Derrick May Rick Wilkins Steve Buechele Rey Sanchez Greg Maddux I'm almost certain I was at this game.
  7. Priceless stat of the day: CUBS are 2-0 all time in the month of November. Go CUBS !!
  8. Time almost froze on that Kipnis foul ball. There was a split second (that felt like an eternity) where I was convinced it was going to stay fair and land in the seats. I don't want to imagine a world where that feeling lasted any longer than that one instant.
  9. Cubs have officially cut ties with the Fake Rally, in favor of the newly-unveiled fake collapse. "We all know how this one ends. We've seen it a hundred times. Why do they toy with our emotions like this? Can't they just cut to the chase and get on with the inevitable already?"
  10. These predictions were terrible. Dex waited until the 4th pitch, and Javy's was the only of the 3 Cubs HRs that did NOT match that description.
  11. In my head, I knew we matched up well and still had a very realistic chance after going down 3-1, but I don't think I actually believed it at the time. The moment it actually felt like it was going to happen was when they let the Russell popup drop in game 6. I felt like games 6 and 7 were both ours at that point. I'm so glad I don't have to spend the next five months being angry about that non-strike 3 call that should have gotten Hendricks out of the 5th.
  12. I was too exhausted last night to feel anything other than "OMG OMG OMG THAT JUST HORSEFEATHERING HAPPENED PMG OMG OMG" Everything is sinking in this morning. I've never experienced this mix of laughter and tears before. All I want to do right now is call Fred. I didn't want to have to experience this without him.
  13. Gonna have a bunch of people over, so I'm not posting during the game. So freaking nervous right now. I love all of you.
  14. I'm ready for Dex to go Chris Young and start this thing on the first pitch. Let One Pitch Kluber wallow out on the mound in the inevitable for the rest of the night.
  15. I understand the suck. I'm in Germany, game starts at 1 am here. So I'm going to try to leave work early, get to bed early, wake up at 1 am, watch the game, then survive on coffee the rest of the day. Luckily, my boss is a Red Sox fan, so he understands. Took leave for the whole series. Didn't even want to pretend to care about anything else this week.
  16. Woke up before my alarm like a kid on Christmas morning. Had a dream that Javy went deep - squeaked one over the wall, just right of straight away center, to turn a 1-0 Indians lead into a 3-1 Cubs lead. Lineup turned over and the offense exploded. Cubs won 8-1.
  17. Playoff and World Series baseball has been exhausting/amazing. The next off day is the first of ~150, but two more games to win first.
  18. Well it works against them because Tomlin was one of the lowest walk rates in baseball, and Arrieta one of the higher ones. Wind howling out was supposed to work in our favor last time, so I'm going to combine that with your reasonable assessment to conclude that Jake goes 8.0, 0, 1, 13/0.
  19. http://i465.photobucket.com/albums/rr12/HammettSHREDZ/TraceyBacksOutSlowly.gif
  20. I shut it off. Joe Buck's misery porn is too much for me to handle. Going to go throw up for a few hours and cry myself to sleep.
  21. Cubs with Lester, Arrieta, and Hendricks going against starters who already make for good matchups before considering that they're on short rest means that going down 3-1 isn't quite the death blow that it seems. But Dickbag McHorseteeth beating Kluber to tie it 2-2 is much better. Cubs should do the latter.
  22. On a certain level, I am still happy to be here. I couldn't stomach that second loss to LA, and I shut the game off early and went to bed. Same for a lot of the 2015 NLCS. But now I feel much more inclined to stick it out and take in every pitch, just because World Series. I'm interpreting that to mean happy to be here. But I really don't want my limits tested. I'm much happier to be here when the dongs fly free and the universe rights itself with RD Cub victories. So more of that please. Dickbag McHorseteeth twirls a gem (5.1 IP, 1R, 5H, 1BB, 3K...a gem for him), and the offense may or may not dong, but they will light up the scoreboard regardless. Cubs win 8-2.

  24. weather.com showing chances of rain on and off throughout the evening, and wind blowing straight in at 8 and 9 mph. Since yesterday was such an obvious advantage with a hittable pitcher and our dongsmiths locked and loaded, I'm taking this to mean the Cubs hang up 7 on Kluber today.
