Personally, I want to (always rooting for that kid), but as a fan I’m going to have to see more than a homer, which was a HUGE deal for the game last night! Hes still way too inconsistent and needs to take some walks and just focus on getting on base. Hoping that he and Tucker get back on track very soon. Oh, how we all would love to see first half PCA though, right?!

Well stated - I’m not posting this because hindsight being that they lost. Counsell is notorious for sitting guys or pinch hitting guys who are the hottest hitters. I do not understand his thought process with that. Also, why Busch as lead off? He’s insisting on making him a lead off hitter. He has his moments, but a guy like Hoerner would be more ideal. Again, just my thoughts on the roster calls from that guy. 🤷♂️🤔

I know this is nearly 24 hours later lol, but I totally agree with your statement. I made a similar statement and was met with resistance from a few people. There are number guys (guys that rely totally on data:statistics, and then there’s just people that go with the hot hands). I am not saying to never use stats and data/numbers, but some managers tend to complicate and overthink these situations. Ride with what is working - just my thoughts too. Go Cubs! It was great to see some signs of life offensively last couple games 👍

Can’t argue that - that is baseball analytics 101. Again, they’re the managers and I’m a fan watching, but those numbers may increase in going with a hot batter is all. Just my thoughts. I’m just glad to see some offense!! Pitching has been doing such a great job even with the offensive woes

I don’t disagree with you - you have a kid hitting well and making solid contact, so why not ride with him. I know you can’t predict results, but how did those “results” work out? I just think they overthink the numbers too much.

I understand the thinking of the righty lefty deal, but the kid is swinging a hot bat - I totally disagree with that move personally, but I’m not the manager so 🤷♂️

Please - someone make sense of Counsell’s decision of pinch hitting for Caissie with a 41 year old (or however old) with Caissie swinging a hot bat?? Is it me - am I the o my one that takes issue with that as a fan? Just checking lol

I definitely agree - @Derwood did mention yesterday that they have been extremely luck and fortunate in many instances, and I do agree with him to a point; however, they are solid in all facets of the game. They hit, solid defense, managed well, and have good starting and relief pitching. On paper, the Cubs should be 9 games up on them, but obviously that’s not what’s happening. On another note - good on you, Owen Caissie!

Instead of quoting others - please share your expertise as to why they win games. I for one, would love to hear your analysis- not quoting other people with your sarcasm. Offer your version as to what they do differently or what the Cubs are or nate not doing. I would like to hear your thoughts.

I am a Cubs fan who happens to live near Philly, yes sir. What some of the simpletons on this forum failed to understand is that I referenced hiw Philly fans react to their players when they lack hustle and production. They’re relentless. Not supporting it - simply stating that the boo birds are a part of the game, and if Tucker can’t handle that it’s going to be rough for him in certain cities. Chicago fans are usually pretty forgiving, but they’re frustrated. That’s all my friend - that’s the measuring stick, guy

Good point, Wilson. That would make more sense than, “struggling mightily” which is evident.

Good valid point, Banedon. Can’t argue that - I love how you called me out with the “coddling” usage lol. Kudos to you for that too. I admit, it was overused quite a bit today. I do hope the guy gets his head right and comes out and hits like we all know he can. I appreciate the comment and feedback, as well as the call out 🤟🏼

Seriously? Really?? Our golden child needs multiple games off because he’s “struggling mightily?”” PCA struggled pretty friggin mightily too; however, he’s working through his rough patch, along with other players. This isn’t a form of coddling? My goodness. I’m obviously the minority here most likely, but whatever

Totally agree with this post! If you’re a Milwaukee fan, how much are you loving the fact of them shedding that dead weight and keeping a real leader in Pat Murphy. I agree with you in the fact that a manager has a certain mentality and presence no matter the sport and can still demand excellence and not settle for subpar performances from your team for the better part of a month. He is a shell of a manager and says things like, “It’s all fine” when clearly it’s a cluster!

Thank you for your comment - I’m guilty as charged indulging in the “crossfire” on disagreements with some of the bloggers on here and it’s to no point. Bottom line is this - you gather a bunch of frustrated fans in one forum and the negativity tends to build because your team is playing like straight cheeks right now. You are correct though - let people enjoy their own commentary and venting and avoid engaging in arguments. Thank you for the reality check 💪
