I know home runs are part of the game, but I would really like to know. When was the last time the Cubs had a game where they did not give up a home run? I’m trying to think back to a game. They had a shut out in, but it seems like every game, literally at least one or two reach the bleachers.

Absolutely could have been a DP, even so he scores a run. Not ideal, but my point is he didn’t try to muscle it or turn on it. Simply went with the pitch. Out or no out.

What I loved about his AB……two strikes and he simply shortened his swing and took the ball where it was. Didn’t try to turn on it; just a simple backside knock. Simple baseball

Honestly, I have been back-and-forth with that very question. Shaw we have a much larger sample size than we do with Pedro. I really like Shaw’s versatility, but his bat is hit or miss no pun intended lol. Pedro. I feel has a better chance of being a more consistent hitter, especially as a switch hitter, and he plays a decent middle infield. I even heard he played a little outfield down in Iowa? If so, given all the factors, I would say keep Pedro and trade Shaw. I don’t think you can land a quality pitcher without giving up one of those pieces.

I was thinking the same thing lol. There was a lot of mishandle on that. A double would’ve been generous let alone a triple.

Exactly! I like Shaw because of his versatility, but man, Pedro is a solid glove up the middle and a better hitter I feel.
